North Pole Trading Company 12/08/07

You call that a lag spurt? Wow! I would usually kill for that number! Today however, I guess the stars were shining on me for some reason... 8.

NEVER, in 2 years of pin trading, have I ever been under 50. :cool1:

Once, when Fin had it in the Mark Twain room, I was first in line! That hasn't happened to me since. But recently, a few trade events ago, when Cyre was first in the room, I was second. I either have tremendous luck or I will have the "lag spurt" Pirate described. ;)

yes you do ! I know I said 1 per minute, but the higher the number the more drops in line. People in the low 300's from start always get in peeps!!

looks like im in for the long haul then! looks like I have no excuse not to do my history now.... fun fun fun! :rotfl:

I believe you mean low 200's not 300's. Unless you have a secret backdoor entrance to host rooms.

happened to me also. just twice tho. BTW you would have made it at 200 :( long wait, but people at 300ish usually make it.

Thanks for letting me know that 200 could have made it. The problem with me is that I do volunteer work on Saturday mornings and I leave at 9:15. So I only have about a 45 minute window to get in. So anything over 40 for me and I can't make it. But maybe next time I will just leave my browser open with me in line and see if I can make it in when I get back around 11:15. I will try that next weekend. thanks Aengus! :thumbsup2

Any suggestions on the best pin to choose trade value wise?

I am holding strong with my grand cali choice, but it has been traded many many times now. Most seem to be going towards the HKDL pin.

Nope 300's, I believe if you search these trading threads each week, you will see the low 300's have been getting in. So many people drop in that 200 - 300 mark. Maybe I should search and double check too.

Obviously the higher over 200 you are the less chance you have , but you do stand a chance. I am going to pull up the old threads and report back.

I've moved about 45 in 35 minutes so Fin is moving us through today!

I was the last person in last week and was under 300. I was thinking around 230-250 but that was a good day, she was trading very fast.

OK well I am trying to search some of the weeks but (mini rant) but you know how good the DIS search function is ROFL (rant off) I am confident I have seen 300's in prior weeks make it. But I am wrong OFTEN :rotfl:

still searching.

So even the HKDL pin is more valuable than the Grand Floridian? I guess I've been overvaluing the Grand Floridian.

Grand FL never held a torch to the Grand CA.

it was handed out in much bigger numbers than the grand CA. The HKDL pin was what October? September 2005? so it is just considerably older than the grand FLA.

If these trends keep up, the FLA would be the way to go, right now Grand CA and HKDL are probably splitting up the picks and most are ignoring the grand FL. Who knows ROFL.

If this helps we were 305 last week and made it in-with 1 minute to spare literally right now I am at 14 so I hope I don't crash! What method does everyone use to ge in? Do you just keep fitting the refresh button, or keep hitting the search button, do you go all the way out and keep searching the most popular room list? Just curious? By the way, aengus, now that I've saved you by admitting yes over 300 does stand a chance of amking it in, what are Lily's favorite colors?

Actually after thinking about last week I was closer to 200 than 230-250, but I would not drop out of line.

Would someone mind posting a picture of the HKDL pin? I am confused. I went to the pin picture list, and I am still confused. I don't see anything like that given out in 2005.

I cant find any numbers after reading some of the older threads, but Fin dc'ed last week, so she would have been slower than usual because of that.

We really need to get a good feel for the numbers. One of these days I will go back further in a search.

its the 2005 pin yes, the hotel one.

ETA: if you look at the pictures posted, its the white pin with gold lettering.

Woot! Thanks guys! When going through the pin pictures, I missed the title "Hong Kong" above the section of pins. Since I got that pin last week, I was starting to think I traded for a low value Disneyland Hotel pin!

Pin trading paranoia, I tell ya!

I have been in the low 300s and made it in. Last week, if you were 200 or higher, the line moved much slower than usual.

My daughter got what others here referred to as the "dead pass." Should she just close out or stay on? She got in line probably at around 175 when the event started and has had the screen open like that. Do you think she is in lne? Will she disconnect because of inactivity? Any help would be great

as far as I know, nobody has ever recovered from "the dead pass". Wait for a couple more opinions before dropping, just in case :)
