Does anyone know if North Face has any outlet stores at all? I tried to google it but couldn't really pin any down.

OR - any suggestions on good discounts on a NF winter coat (the ones she is looking at are $200 to $330). I have been hunting on eBay, but looking for a regular retailer I can just hit purchase & grab one - but at a deeply discounted price.

Yes, The North Face does have outlet stores - just do a check on the website. We've been to the outlet stores in Ohio, Michigan and Florida.

The thing is that with outlet stores, they don't carry the lifetime warranty that other The North Face products have when purchased at non-outlet stores. Just an FYI.

Check online, as many sport stores have pretty good prices on TNF products. Have fun shopping, Tiger

I have found good prices on North Face Denali jackets at Nordstrom. Also, I don't know who "she" is( if it's wife, daughter or what) but I can vouch for the childrens jackets being generously sized for most juniors. In fact I can wear a childrens L or XL and I'm a pretty averaged sized female.

Perhaps this is the way it is for Junior size, but TNF runs small for adults. I am a medium size, and had to get an XL for my coat, as did hubby. They seem to run small for adult sizes, so you need to try them on.

My kids TNF coats are a bit roomier though, as you mentioned, so always best to try on, if at all possible. It really depends upon the style too, as some of the down coats (mine is), are a bit more snug as well.

You are correct about the women's coats. I found that their denali jackets are cut narrower through the shoulders and waist than the boys. Makes no sense. I have the windbreakers though in womens size and can wear the large. Definitely need to try. What I did with the Nordstrom purchases was I had the girls try on at a local store for size (they didn't have the colors they wanted) then I ordered them from Nordstrom in Atlanta rather than drive up there.

We were up in Marquette, MI this past weekend visiting our nephew at Northern Michigan University. We happened to notice a display in the bookstore that promoted 20% off NorthFace at the local store, Getz. Before we left town we stopped there and they have an enormous selection of every kind of upscale winter clothing you can think of. A lady at another store told us they do 90% of their business on the internet. If you know what item you are looking for I would call them and ask for the advertised 20% discount. They told me most items ship for free.

I've seen them at sporting good stores, Ski shops, and at Macy's. My DD is wanting one for Christmas this year. I've just started looking around for one and haven't seen many yet. It's still early.

Thanks for the size info! My DD is hard to buy clothes for so she will need to try it on before I buy her one. I also didn't know about the waranty either. I need to do some research. Where is the outlet in Fl at?

Thanks I love the Disboards!

It is located in Orlando Premium Outlets on I-Drive.

Happy shopping, Tiger :)

They do have outlet stores, but I don't find the prices to be very outlet-y. We visit the one in Birch Run a few times a year and dh will occassionally find a good deal on a T or pants, but the jackets, not so much.

Thanks! We will be near there next month and then again in Dec. I will have to start looking harder here at home to get some prices and then head down there to see what they have. Since I'll be in the area I figured i'd just stop and see what they have. I'd never make a trip just for that.

bear_mom I completely understand the non "outlet" prices. We have a premium outlet here and it's not priced like an outlet. They just need to call it a mall and leave the outlet off. I don't think outlets are what they use to be.

I did notice that Macy's last year had there NF jackets marked down after Christmas but when I was there it was more of the colored ones. I'm sure closer to spring they had the more neutral colors marked down. I wasn't really looking for one then. This year will be a different story.

North Face women's coats are fitted.

Moosejaw usually has some good sales. :)

Yup, totally agree, and since you don't get the warranty, it doesn't make much sense to buy much from there.

Yes, Moosjaw does have some good sales, and they are great to talk to, and they ship a variety of places too.

Best of luck to OP in finding some great TNF deals! We find them at various stores, as some sport stores really do good markdowns.

Happy shopping, Tiger :)

I just bought dd a Denali coat for Xmas @ cabela's.com. Last years color for around $100.00 Cheapest I could find.

I've been to the North Face Outlet at Birch Run. It's kind of hit or miss. Going to today, hope to find what I want and if not I'll probably just buy what I want at Nordstrom or REI.

Places on line to find north face: moosejaw, backcountry, 6pm has sometimes what you want, rei outlet, sometimes. Also it's www.getzs.com I always get it mixed up. I've also been at the store in Marquette, it's very nice.

Be careful. eBay is filled with many counterfeit North Face items. I would avoid buying a NF coat there.

I've gotten good deals on North Face at moosejaw.com and sportsbasement.com.

I watched the REI sale/clearance section on their website for a long time and got my husband a wonderful micro fleece Marmot jacket for a great price last year. Keep an eye on their sale stuff online and you will likely find a North Face jacket if you aren't in a hurry. I was limited on my color choices though.
