There has been some discussion on another thread about members from NC getting together in an informal setting. If there is enough interest, I can try to plan something for Saturday, November 15, in the Greensboro area. If you would like to attend, please sign in here.

If there isn't enough interest for that date, I may try again in the spring.

This will be for DVC members only, and just the adults this time :)

This date sounds good to me. I live in Greensboro so my wife and I would love to come.

DW and myself might be interested. We live in Cary, but it's no big deal to drive to Greensboro.

Throw our names into the hat. Might be able to get another dvc family to go. so the count would be 4. Thanks:cool1:

Add My DH & I for now- we wouldn't be able to drive up until I get off work unless I can somehow get off that day- what time do you plan to have things start off? We'd love to drive up!

I would be interested, we live in the Raleigh area, but I (and my DD) will be in WDW. Maybe I can send DH?:lmao:

Sounds wonderful. Wish Greensboro wasn't so far away though. Unfortunately, as great as it sounds, I'm going to have to pass for that reason. Hope ya'll have a large time though. I'm sure you will.

Come on Bob ... it isn't as far as say WDW:rotfl:

We live in the Greensboro area so count us in:thumbsup2

It looks like we'll have enough then! I'm open to suggestions as to what kind of gathering we should have. Someone offered to help plan it. Who was that? :)

I would suggest just gathering somewhere for lunch or dinner. Being a Saturday lunch might be best, that would give the folks driving in time to get there and then back home before dark. I know it takes us about an hour and 15 minutes to get to Greensboro. I don't really know much about Greensboro restaurants. We used to live in Winston-Salem, but didn't go over to Greensboro much. Now the only time we go there is for the ACC Women's basketball tournament.

Wondering if something off of Interstate 40 would make sense for those traveling?

Sounds good to me! And so easy, too. I'll check out what's available close to the interstate. We'll do lunch as suggested.

Olive Garden and Carrabbas are at High Point Road exit.
TK Tripps, Red Lobster are at Wendover exit.
Lucky 32 and Chop House Grill would be excellent for lunch.

Might want to shoot for an 11:30 lunch time?

I like the idea of Lucky 32, Chop House, or maybe Green Valley Grill. They all have good food. I'm not sure which one would be the easiest to find, however.

I should also add that all three of the restaurants I mentioned would involve making a reservation (11:30 sounds good) so I would definitely need a head count.

Are you thinking of the Chop House Grille on 68? That is easy to get to from 40 but it isn't open for lunch on Saturdays. Neither is the Chop House on Holden.

Another option might be Grandover as it is right off 85, not far after the 40/85 split.

Here are the directions from 40 ...

Interstate 85 South, towards Charlotte
Exit on #122 A and turn RIGHT onto Groometown Road
Turn LEFT at the first stoplight, onto Grandover Parkway
The Resort entrance is on the right at 1.3 miles

We dine there often and enjoy it.

Just my $.02:flower3:
