I got one on Friday and I am still in pain. There is a red lump as wide as a baseball at the injection site and it's hot plus it's starting to itch. My whole arm feels heavy and tingly. Is this normal? I haven't had a tetanus shot in over 15 years so I don't remember.

My reaction was similar. It took a while for it to totally go away too. My arm hurt for a week. Good thing it's only needed every ten years.

Yes, that is what happened to me as well. I bet it took three weeks for the lump to go away completely. My sister wasn't quite as bad, but complained that it hurt for a couple of weeks.

Thanks! It's good to know that it's normal. It looks really terrible. My dh's company Christmas party was last night and every person that came up to me hugged me and hit my arm. :scared1: I was in short sleeves and by the end of the night I had people asking me what happened because it just looked so bad.

Yep, me too. You could actually still feel a little lump in the spot for a long time until it finally went away.
