Norm!

I always loved it on Cheers when Norm would walk in and be greeted by everybody....

My favorite Norm welcome:

Cliff: "Norm! What's shaking?"
Norm (taking his seat and motioning for a beer): "All four cheeks"

While I don't have a bar that I frequent, I am lucky enough to have a situation or two where everybody knows my name.

One of my favorites is a group of folks who were all parents of cub scouts at the same time. We've managed to keep our friendly, rowdy group going all these years with meals, concerts, shows, and other outings four or five times a year. I always feel completely welcome by that group!

This isn't exactly the same, but I'm in a band at church and we rehearse on Wednesdays and every other Sunday. One day I walked in late and everyone was standing around talking to each other, including DH. I said hi to everyone and no one looked over. I said teasingly, mostly to DH, "Thanks for saying Hi." and I went up and gave him a kiss.

Now everytime I walk into rehearsal, everyone yells hi to me in their loudest voices. Then I have to pop DH

NORM: Boy meets beer. Boy drinks beer. Boy gets another beer. In this performance, the role of the boy will be played by Norm Peterson

hmmmmm...happy place.......I'd say the Angels thread....kinda like sisters by choice.

We get pizza & wings every Fri. night and when DH walks up to the counter all the guys know him by name. Hey Tom, How ya doin Tom. DH is a big fan of Cheers and loves that he gets that response at the pizza parlor.
