I didn't find anything in a search, so I just wanted to start one. ;)
I'd say anyone, north of Fresno? (assuming there isn't a CenCal group already. lol)

Guessing a lot of us up here spend most of our Disney vacations at DLR & maybe even Aulani, or at least more than the rest of the country/world.
I fly out of (SMF) Sacramento mostly, but maybe not for WDW, we'll see what's best when that time comes. (it used to be JetBlue to Long Beach, but not so much anymore)

Who else is out there??

** If there is already a "NorCal" group that I missed let me know & I'll delete this.

Bay area reporting in! Bought into DVC last year. We've definitely been doing more domestic Disney trips since COVID - Aulani and Disneyland last year, and have upcoming Disneyland, World, and Tokyo Disney trips planned. :teeth:

Oh, lets hear more about this.!! (WDW is next for me & Tokyo is on my list.)

(born in 408)
The last time we went to Disney World was in Jan 2020, so it will be interesting to see how everything has changed. Thanks to DVC, we will be staying at VGF (our first stay ever on-property in WDW) and have enough space to invite family to join us. After the parks, we're excited to be joining the member's cruise (our first DCL sailing) right after. All of this was planned right after purchasing my first DVC contract, so you can tell I jumped in with both feet. :rotfl2:

Tokyo Disney Resort has always been on my bucket list and, though I've been to the city a few times, I've never actually gone! We have a full itinerary planned for Japan next winter with only a few days in Tokyo BUT I'm making sure to carve out some time to make it happen. Including a stay at DisneySEA MiraCosta, if I can snag a reservation! If things go my way, I may need an extra suitcase just for the merch. :scratchin

Sounds awesome, so do usually you fly out of SJC, SFO or OAK?
OAK is our preferred airport due to proximity, but going to Orlando we always need to fly out of SFO. (It boggles my mind that there aren't any non-stop options from OAK and SJC.) When heading down to Disneyland, I always fly in/out of SNA.

(WDW is next for me & Tokyo is on my list.)
How is planning going for WDW and will you be staying through DVC? I'm in the middle of reacquainting myself with all the dining options to map out ADRs.

I've done SNA once, but I used to live in Long Beach, so I love flying into LGB... it's only a few minutes further, but so much more chill of an airport. I just couldn't see doing it any other way, it's like flying into Hawaii, you're on vacation as soon as you land... we'll maybe not quite the same. lol
I used to fly JetBlue, but they stopped flying into LGB, so now I have miles/points that I'm not sure how to use. What airline do you use mostly if any (WDW or DLR).

Planning is getting hectic. lol
I have BRV as a home resort (never been to WDW tho), but I really want to check out & stay at a few places, so I have to make a reservation now & plan to change some of it at the 7-month window, so I'm trying to decide what my priority is for when & where to try to swap too. (basically AKV, BRV & BWV/BCV)
You can see some of the ideas here. https://www.disboards.com/threads/how-would-you-do-it.3917342

So i guess not many of us worth keeping this thread going.

Anyone have opinions on where to fly out of or in to.? Do you go for closer & more convenient or cheaper, but maybe farther or just depends on if the discount is worth the extra distance?

I do SFO to MCO
OAK to HNL

I get two campaign ticket a year for Alaska and use those to fly our family of five from sfo to mco. $99 dollar plus taxes. the fifth if we are all going I use our points

510 here. Actually I'm from the 925 and my wife is from the 415, so it only made sense to split the difference (both literally and figuratively) and live in the 510. Hmmm odd thought. I definitely do say hella and do NOT use "the" in front of freeways... but we would use "the" in front of area codes, right?

Been an owner for 7 years now, but pretty much just go to WDW on average 2x/year. We don't visit DLR anymore, except for Moonlight Magics. We surprisingly don't visit the FL parks much anymore either, unless there's something new to experience, in which we'll buy a 1 day/ 1 park ticket. We have about 12 days in non-expire hoppers, but saving those for... iono 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️.

We fly out of OAK on Southwest 75% of the time because we always bring our golf clubs. The only alternative I would consider is the Alaska nonstop to MCO out of SFO.

As someone who lived in LA before moving to the bay, I still say "the" in front of freeways and it drives my bay-area-native husband crazy. 🤣
Sorry I have to comment that I do this too and it make my wife crazy :)

Loving seeing more "west coast" DVC member action on the board.

Since I'm speaking to my local peeps... anyone use a DVC magnet on their car? Years back I had the older oval DVC one on my car, until someone commented about me reppin' Diablo Valley College. Took it off and have not put one back on since. I realize the double DVC is a specific East Bay/925 thing, lol.

dvc.edu!

I'm always SMF to LGB, but I'm trying to plan Orlando now that i bought into DVC, so i may have to try other airports to fly out of. Oak would be next closest to me, then SFO, then SJC.

Lived in SoCal for 12 years and i think adding "the" stuck in my brain its hard to avoid now. lol

Absolutely.!!

The Diablo Valley College ads I've been seeing on local TV have also given me pause. 🤣

I have 2 DVC and a 1928 one

Monterey checking in.

I’ve owned DVC over a decade & we‘ve been traveling to WDW every year for 10+ day stays.
IME SFO is usually the only airport w/ non stops to MCO. That said, I’m not a fan of flying in/out of SFO, the traffic to get there is a hassle, the long term parking is expensive, etc.. I have done some of the stay/park/fly hotels, driving over the day before, spending the night & grabbing their shuttle to the airport, that’s usually lower stress for me & less expensive than paying for parking. The issue is the longer stays - a lot of the hotels have a max on the number of days you can leave your car there.
