Nor Cal residents - AP w/monthly pymts

Yeah, except I was on vacation visiting family before we went to DL and bought them online. I didn't read the fine print when I bought and printed them out since I printed them out from my telephone at my In-laws. I figured someone out there might be as dumb as me and was trying to be helpful. :)
Ahh, I misunderstood you. At the park, they clarify it a couple times that the payment will come out 2-5 days later.

One small note about the $80 down per pass. The first "monthly" charge was 2 days after I "bought" my tickets (and while I was on vacation at Disneyland - I bought the annual passes two days before we left!).

It may not seem like much, but when you're on vacation and trying to keep track of every penny and have multiple passes being charged, it wasn't completely expected. I questioned it and was told that they always do it, so just wanted to share my experience. :)

I agree with you, same thing happened to me and I was a little surprised. While completing the contract, it mentions several times about your $80 down payment, but nothing about the first $24 payment coming out at the same time. Unlike yours, mine came out the same time and day, just in a separate transaction. I read the terms and conditions and didn't see anything about it...why don't they just make the down payment $100?

I wasn't irriatated or anything, just a little surprised that it wasn't very clear.

I think it has to do with making sure the credit card is valid for monthly payments right away especially when someone upgrades a pass or uses another form of payment for the down payment. Its easier to set a standard process for all then a process for upgrades and another for those using one cc for downpayment and monthly payments.

ETA: for those that purchased online ahead of time and had payments right away, did your expiration date correspond to your purchase date or your activation at the park?

The expiration date is the date of activation in the park. Also, you don't get any of the perks of owning an AP until it's activated, other than making hotel reservations with an AP discount.
