Nook Touch - what's a good price right now?

I am doing my Birthday/Christmas shopping this am....I really want a Touch ereader for my 9 year old. I see the Kindle Touch is coming out for $99 and the Refurbished Nook Touch is $99 right now. And...I see brand new Nook Touch for around $130 on ebay, etc.

I orginally wanted the Kindle Touch for my DD's 9th bday but it's in a few weeks and the Kindle Touch won't be released yet. I can either wait to get it for her at Christmas OR.... get the Nook Touch now. I don't have experience with either one so I don't think it matters a lot to me which one I get. Which is the better deal? Will the Kindle Touch have something "over" the Nook touch? I don't need bells & whistles for her, but don't want to have any regrets either. THANKS.

I have the Nook Color and I spent about $250 for the actual reader and then I bought the extended warrenty. I love it because I can go online and check my e-mail and all that fun stuff. Most of the apps are pretty resonably priced. I don't know about the Kindle. The orginal Nook is going for about $89 and the touch is going for $139. Supposedly they are going to release the next generation of Nook Color in the next few weeks. I'm hoping that all the Nook prices will drop at that time to compete with Kindle. So, my suggestion would be to wait a couple weeks in hopes of a price drop then go from there.

I don't see how Barnes and Noble would hope to compete with Amazon when their prices are $40-50 more for basically the same item.

what i worry about with the nook is will B&N go the way of borders?

I would definitely not rush to make this purchase right now. Wait for B and N to respond to the Kindle Fire and then decide.
