Capellini, can you believe I don't like fetuccini alfredo? Not just from alfredo's but anywhere! And as for a favorite pasta dish at WDW...I have yet to find one. We did Alfredo's but weren't impressed, but that was YEARS ago. Maybe we'll try again.

Spaetzle - I'm VERY surprised by you too! I thought you were tiny and square!
Spaetzle: a small german pasta. It's got a consistency something like scrambled eggs, but tastes like regular pasta. With some salt and pepper and lemon zest, it makes a very nice side dish.

By the way, the word "spaetzle" means "little sparrow" in German, and is indicative of the diminutive dumplings of this pasta derivative.


Wow! I am learning so much. It's just so beautiful that we, being noodles of different origins, have come together and, despite our differences, can live united because of this thread.

Umm - wrrrrrrrrrroooooooonnnnnnnnngggggggg! I make the best mac and cheese EVER! I may share it with y'all later. Maybe. If you're really nice to me.

And I'm betting that Spaetzle will set you straight on the best macaroni and cheese too. Spaetzle? Speak up!

rcyannacci, I didn't know there used to be noodles at Ohana. I wish they'd bring 'em back, I definitely prefer noodles to rice.

I like it and all, but don't think it qualifies as exciting.

Just pricing insurance for our upcoming move.
We're deciding on house price according to how much the taxes are (they're running as much as the mortgage!). NOW I have to look forward to doubling car and home owner's insurance.

Somebody post a pasta recipe and make me forget about the money!

I'll be where you are moving in April, so I'll try to get some scoop on the "best neighborhoods". I'm going for a "girl's weekend" to help celebrate a friend's 40th...love the friend, but can't stand HER friends...full of Botox and much too ...one actually hit on my ex-husband(while we were still married) for which I will NEVER, EVER forgive her...it never came to fruition, but still, what a scumbag! I just received an email from her...says she's looking forward to see me...right...that's a train wreck waiting to happen!

Anyways, sorry to go on about that...I'm totally pissed right now...

Here's an easy recipe(even I can do) to take your mind off the house situation:

Pasta w/ Shrimp

1/2 cup Olive Oil
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 cup white wine

Put above ingredients in pan and heat

Then add

Flat parsley
1/2 lb shrimp
1/4-1/2 stick butter

Melt butter stirring and add salt & pepper to taste

Pour over pasta (really good on Capellini or linguini)

NOT like fettucini alfredo? Are you nuts? How can you not like it...if done right, the best cream and butter sauce ever ...full of calories, fat, carbs and everything bad for you...what's not to love!
