I had a call at 7.30 from the Head to say our school was closing today....very unusual for us as its the first time in years we've closed apparently. Typically it was the only day I got up especially early so was just about to leave!

Oh well, I bet the kids are thrilled! I shall just ahve to spend more time on here!

We have snow and lots of it. As many of you are aware I am anti-snow. I hate the chaos it causes when schools close and I have problems getting into work, but have to because I am a nurse I am expected to come in regardless. All the rows it causes between dh and I who is staying off work etc this time.

However I am off work now for a week, so I dont care. It looks lovely outside and we will be going out shortly making a snowman.

We have a snow day at our school too, only because most of the staff couldn't get in (we are on the edge of the countryside and many staff live in small villages). I was the only teacher in the junior department to make it in out of 5 of us. So I manned the phones for an hour and then came home!!
All the schools in out town have closed, I think we were the last to do so.

We live in the dudley borough we heard yesterday afternoon they were closing our schools and we didn't have to go into work. I didn't have to go to work yesterday either as there was a major water leak in Kingswinford and the school was shut.
