Nontransferable PIN?

I am a college student and have gone to Disney a few times these past few years with friends from school. I used to go every year with my parents for spring training, but now that everyone has a different schedule we don't really go anymore.

Since I'm the Disney expert out of my friends, I have been the one to plan the trips when we go. Now that my e-mail address is registered with Disney, I've been getting lots of special offers.

I am going next month with a friend so I won't be going again any time soon. I did, however, just receive a 40% off PIN code. Since I can't use it, is there any way that my sister could use it with her family?

I know it says nontransferable, but is there a way around it? She and her husband have been wanting to take the kids but they really can't afford it right now and are just saving up. This code would definitely help them out.

Please let me know if you know of any ideas! Gracias!

They are sticklers about this. You have to be on the reservation with them to book it with the pin. Maybe try registering them on the site. Order a vacation planning DVD for them. A week after I did got my own 40% off code.

If you are listed in their "household" then they can use it. If not, then no

Thanks! I guess if THEY were going I would HAVE to go along, right? ;) (I always look for excuses to go to Disney)

Nope, definitely not listed in their household. Thanks for the info, though!

Maybe you could book for them. (The res would have to be under your name.) Let them pay for the room/res and you just pay them for your extra adult fee. (Or whatever extra it would cost if you were not along.)
That way you both get a WDW vacation and a deal. :cool1:

Then why won't they let me use the PIN my mom got a few months ago? :confused3 She definitely lives with me and has for the last 4 1/2 years, since my dad had to go into a nursing home. She got a 40% off PIN several months ago for several dates in 2009. I've called twice and been told both times that I can not use it, as it is her PIN, not mine. I've told them she lives with me and that I could bring them something with our address on it, with both of our names showing we share the same address. For goodness sake, the house is in my name, not hers. They still say it is her code and I can't use it unless she's with me.

I used the 4/3 deal for my May trip, and already have Free Dining for my Sept/Oct trip (thanks to the Bounceback program I booked while I was there last Sept), but I need a code for my Dec trip. The dates on my mom's 40% off code covers my Dec dates. She actually does live with me, so why can't I use her PIN?

I do not think that pp was correct. It does not matter if she lives with you. She has to be on the reservation. It stinks but thats the way it is. Sorry. I hope you have a great time on your trips.

I think you already got an answers here, just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice day everyone. :)

Lets say person A gets a pin. If person A is listed in a "household" in Disney's system with person B C D and E then person B C D E can use the pin without person A present. If person A gets a pin and lives with person B C D E but the pin is sent to person A's old "household" in Disney's system and is not listed in Disney's "household" with person B C D and E then no, they cant use it unless person A is there

So can someone enlighten me as to why Disney keeps sending PINs to people that aren't the ones that actually PAY for the vacations?? Do they do this on purpose? I took my mother on her first trip in over 15 years in Dec of '07. The reservation was in MY name, MY credit card was used, I booked it, etc, etc. My mom just 'tagged' along for the ride. So why has my mom recieved 2 PINs in the last few months already? We do live together but I dont get why they don't come in my name? I'll be the one paying for this! haha!

I don't think the system that generates the PINS is advanced enough to differentiate who paid or who didn't on previous vacations...just like it doesn't know who has kids or who doesn't(explaining why 'childless' people are getting the 'kids play and dine free' PINS)... I received my PIN under my maiden name and I have been married 8 years...so who knows where and how they get the info...?:confused3

I still don't understand. My dad always refused to go on vacations. After he went in the nursing home, almost five years ago, my mom moved in with me. I took her on her first ever WDW trip a few months later and have taken her back a couple of times since. She has lived with me every time we've gone to WDW and still does. Now four years after her first trip, they sent her a 40% off PIN to our address (her name, my address). I own the house, not her. The only address Disney could possibly have on file for her is mine. So why can't I use the PIN? Every time I see one of these posts, I call back, but have been told the same thing every time. The address they have for her is mine, but the code is hers and I can't use it unless she is with me. She doesn't want to go. I've paid for the majority of her trips and she has lived here with me, since before she ever made her first WDW trip. Why can't I use the 40% off code?

my brother lived with us and he went on my last trip with the family. When we returned he got a pin code but i was not able to use the code even though he was in the same household. Maybe because his last name was different but we could not use it as the reservation would not be in his name :confused3
