Noncharacter buffet breakfasts?

I am going in February with my good friend and one of her close friends. I would like to try Kona for breakfast, but she really likes buffets because of the variety. Since there will be no children with us, we don't see the need to do a character breakfast. I have booked The Wave, but I was wanting some opinions on the different breakfasts available. I have only eaten at Chef Mickey and Hollywood and Vine for breakfasts. Where do y'all like to go for a noncharacter buffet breakfast?

Sorry. I just realized I posted this under the reviews not under the main Disney Restaurants thread, and I have no clue how to or if I can move it.

I've never done it for breakfast but Boma at AK resort should have a buffet breakfast. We really enjoyed the buffet dinner.

I'll second Boma - but we've found that sometimes the more 'interesting' things don't turn over as fast, so they don't seem quite as fresh.

Last trip we tried the breakfast at Fresh Mediterranean Market over at the Dolphin.

I ordered off the menu, but my husband got the buffet. I sort of wish I had, too - what he got looked delicious, and he said there was a LOT of stuff he didn't think he'd have room for :p.

We scheduled it for a DHS day, parked there and walked to breakfast (it's a loooong walk on an empty stomach :lmao: ) We took the boat back to the park afterwards.

Both The Wave and Captain's Grille give you a combo - they each have a menu and a moderate-sized buffet so each person can have their preference. Otherwise, I agree with everybody else that Boma has great food and probably the biggest diversity of food options. Another fun choice might be to go over to Fort Wilderness and try their breakfast buffet. No characters but really neat theming. Best way to get there is to take the boat launch from the MK dock; it lets you off right by the restaurant (if you take a bus, then you have to transfer to an internal Ft. Wilderness bus to get from the front gate to the restaurant).

But even with an adult-only party, don't discount all character breakfasts. CP in the MK and Tusker House in AK are both wonderful - great food and the characters are fun but not intrusive. A lot of it just depends on what park plans you have that day; go with whichever restaurant has the easiest access for you to where you want to go next.

I'll agree with Boma. Great selection and some different items.

(Although The Wave was another one on our list that we didn't get to. I like that they have healthier options)

I love buffet breakfasts. I will get up extra early just to have them. My favs are:
Boma
Crystal Palace (okay, there are characters but it is still worth it)
Captains Grille, best service IMHO, at WDW. They treat me wonderfully there.
If I've had a bit of a "day" at the parks, I go here to feel special.
Boma - I always go twice, it's that good.
Trail's End, yes it's a hidden gem. A bit hard to get to in the am.
Garden Grove at the Swan. Love it. Also, great service. Have a Mimosa.
Grand Floridian Cafe- not a buffet but great food and wonderful service. Ditto the Mimosa.
Oh, who am I kidding, I always have a Mimosa at the resorts. Hey, I work hard all year.

My favorites, in order, would be Captain's Grille, Mediterranean Fresh Market, and Boma.

While not technically a buffet, you might also want to look at Whispering Canyon, which has an AYCE skillet.
