We've booked RPR and working with a Personal Vacation Planning Consultant, she told me she would try get a non-smoking room for us since my hubby has severe allergies. Has anyone ever stayed at the non-smoking room? It says on my reservation confirmation that we requested a lower floor. I'm not sure I'll like the lower floor--but as long as Hubby doesn't have an asthma attack we'll be happy! :thumbsup2 Does every building at RPR have a few non-smoking rooms? And I forgot to ask her if the non-smoking rooms was non-pet rooms as well, not that we don't love dogs, we do -but again those darn allergies!

We stay there all the time and never been in a smoking room, I don't think they offer them. they have smoking areas outside the hotel in different areas.

I would also inquire if the non-smoking room they assign you has ALWAYS been a non-smoking room. A couple years ago (HRH) we were sent to a "non-smoking" room. Well, the little folded sign on the end table definitely stated non-smoking, but the room reaked (no better word to describe) of stale cigarette smoke. Until you do a complete cleaning/replacement of drapes, upholstery, linens, walls, etc the smells/irritants are going to still be there.

Thanks Sleepy, I'll check into that!

I read somewhere (can't remember where now) that only the Hard Rock Hotel is non-smoking but the others aren't? :confused3 Maybe I just I'm crazy though and that is highly possible! :upsidedow

The RPR does have smoking rooms, I have had several stays in a smoking
room , always in tower 2 , floor 2 or 4. This could have changed since the
last time I had a smoking room which was May 2008.

Tricky1 is correct.

Smoking rooms are only in Tower 2
I'm not sure the floors but I assume what Tricky said he would know since he was there less than a year ago.

I know the animal floors are the first 2 floors in Tower 2.

All suites do not allow smoking no matter what building they are in.

Last year HRH went completely non smoking

Thanks macraven, how many towers are there at RPR? And which tower is the best- meaning the closest to the pool and to the boat? I know there is a sticky at the top for RPR, but it's so long it's hard to find anything especially for me, since I have a dial-up connection and it takes forEVER to download a large post! :sad2:

Tower 1 is closest to the walkway and gives you the shortest walk to the parks.

Tower 3 is closest to the boat dock.

I believe both are convenient to the pool. Tower 3 definitely is, but I have never stayed in Tower 1.

We typically request Tower 3.

right on the mark!!

I have stayed in Tower 1 and loved it there. (I would try Tower 3 if it is available when I go this year.)

Tower 1 is a quiet building and not a far walk to the water taxi

I have stayed in Tower 1 3 times and 3 2 times and find either one just fine. The walk between the 2 towers is very minimal in my opinion.:thumbsup2

Thanks! Since I've requested for a non-smoking room (because of medical reasons) then I'll probably get tower 1 or 3, so I should be happy either way. That is good to know! :thumbsup2
