Non-smoking at Vistana?

Did I read somewhere that there are no non-smoking units at Vistana? Why is this? Has anyone had a really yucky, smoky room? My DH wants to try Vistana for our next exchange, but between my allergies, asthma and generally dislike of smoking, no non-smoking units would make it a tough sell for me.

We forgot to ask for nonsmoking, so I don't know if there are none. Our condo had ashtrays in the cabinet and that was the only evidence that it was a smoking room. It didn't smell AT ALL, and I'm very sensitive to that too. My kids would have said something if it was stinky and they didn't.

I guess you have to call and ask.

We are very sensitive to smoke smell as well--DS has asthma and I just don't like the smell. Didn't request a non-smoking unit, but there was no smell at all and like the above poster mentioned, the only eveidence of smoking were the 6 ashtrays piled in the cabinet.

I can't comment on Vistana, but we've stayed twice at Orbit One through SkyAuction. They also do not offer non-smoking units. DW is EXTREMELY sensitive to smoke. We would not be able to stay in a room with even the slightest residue of previous smoking. So I was very wary the first time we went. Everything was clean as a whistle both times. The same was true when we cruised on Carnival Glory this Spring. No non-smoking cabins on the ship. Apparently, they all do some type of industrial strength cleaning treatment that totally eliminates the odor from smoking. Works for us.

We have stayed at Vistana a couple of times and have never smelled the least bit of smoke in the rooms.

Vistana rooms are smoking-optional. In 10 years of stays there, we have never had a smokey-smelling room. I believe there are a very few non-smoking rooms, but that policy may have changed. I always found Vistana does a very good job deodorizing the villas.
