If we have non-refundable tickets, is there any chance of getting our money back? Our kids 12 and 16 have never flown and we finally got them talked into going to visit grandma and grandpa in Arizona for Christmas. With all that has happened, I don't know if I can get them on a plane. Am I stuck loosing my money if we drive instead or do I make them do something they don't want to do? My 12 year old is the one that is REALLY worried. Thanks in advance.

Check and see if there has been any schedule change. If there has have your travel agent issue a refund.

Schedule change will not guarantee a refund.

A cancellation of one of your flights and a change to a different flight # departing at a different time will give you a good chance of getting one...though again...no guarantee.

I was able to get full refund on non-refundable ticket because my flight was cancelled and I was rescheduled on a flight which would not work for me.

Are you flying TWA or American? They are offering to voucher the tickets for future travel from now until Monday.:)

We are flying Delta. The only changes they have made to our flights so far is the flight number and the return trip is about 20 minutes earlier.

What you need to do is go on the internet and show your kids the statistics. They are alot more likely to die driving to AZ then they are flying. The facts show this time and time again. Also, remind them that the 9/11 events were the first in history of that type and, with the new security, are virtually guaranteed never to happen again. I fly over 50,000 miles a year and feel more nervous driving the (30) miles to my local airport than I do flying.
With all the benefits to flying, and the places you can see doing it, it would be a shame if your kids let those terrorists ruin their opportunities in life.

I would call Delta-we had nonrefundable tickets and one flight number changed and was scheduled 5 minutes later. They said since it was a schedule change they would refund the money. So-I'd call and see. Good luck.
