Non-preferred POR buildings

The POR thread has resort map so you can see where the buildings are.

I checked out the map. Say, if I'm in 37 or 24 (since those look the farthest in each direction) how long is the walk to the food court? Just an estimate.

We were in building 37 in November and i honestly don't think it was that bad...maybe a 5 minute or so walk to the food court, pool a tad bit less. We faced the grounds...not the parking lot. I would NOT have liked that. It was pretty ugly but there was still construction going on.

We enjoyed where we were and also liked using the North Depot because it wasn't ever much of a wait at all. There were many times it was obvious it was the first stop..We were there during Thanksgiving week and I'm sure buses ran more so maybe that accounted for less of a wait even though a lot more people.

Just how far away will we be from everything in a non preferred AB room?

We were in Bldg 80 (Acadian House) last November and we would walk to the main buildings via the pool in roughly 5 minutes. I would stay there again and not sweat the walk at all. It's a beautiful walk along the river then over the bridges.

As the previous poster stated, we also were right next to the North Depot and we always made it onto the first bus.

We were in Building 24 and it was very far from everything, but the good thing was that we had the West Depot bus stop right outside of our room, so that really helped late at night after a day in the parks with 2 kids with us. I never mind the walking or how far the room is, but the walk to anywhere else at POR was very long from our rooms. It was a quiet week in November and the place was not busy at all and they still put us so far. But, POR is a very nice resort so walking around, taking in the atmosphere was no problem for me. Getting to the foodcourt, main building, marina took about 10 minutes to walk.

Even the farthest out rooms in Parterre Place are no more than 5 minutes to a perimeter bus stop.

The other thing I like about POR is when you get to the perimeter bus stop, you spend very little time in the sun or walking on pavement. You walk on a sidewalk and it doesn't take long to get to some shady from trees and eventually the corridors leading to the rooms, you are under shade.

That is what I didn't like about CBR; that long trek across the parking lot in the sun to the building.
