We are planning to chill out on our first day after arrival, to be followed by 14 theme park days! I am thinking of dropping to publix to get some water & fruit, some pool time, look around Disney springs and head to one of the resorts for dinner

Which resort & restaurant would you choose? I am thinking Boma or HDDMR but open to other suggestions too.

Oooo tough choice. We are doing both this visit. I guess it would depend on where you are staying as I wouldn't want to do a whole lot of extra travel time on my first day after flying in.

I agree, but also I would think about when I got to WDW...like did I get there at 11am? I would want something special and fun like HDD, did I get there at 3? I would want something interesting but not too involved.....

This, plus our travel plans. With the Publix trip it sounds like you're driving, but if you're flying, we try to plan in case of worst case scenario. If you're arriving on an afternoon flight, I'd book Boma because if you miss it you're only charged the $40pp. If you book HDDR, you're out the full cost of the show. I'd be a bit more lenient with a morning arrival if you are flying from a city with multiple direct flights a day.

We are flying the night before. I really didn't word it well, my error!

So arriving on Thursday at 8 pm at MCO, picking up car at Alamo and driving to the hotel. So it's the day after arrival. I feel it will be good for us to recover from the long haul and take it easy before hitting the parks on Saturday.

On one side we will be jet lagged and up crazy early but also tired and I feel one easy day will get us all in better mood.

We are staying at SSR.

I would say do both then! Maybe a late breakfast at Boma, explore the hotel, Disney Springs for the afternoon and then HDDR!

My son would love that, he is big breakfast fan and he loves fried chicken too :)

I'm doing Boma breakfast at 10am and exploring the resort and then HDDR (middle show) for dinner and exploring that resort area. I think with exploring resorts and swimming back at our resort works as a perfect non park day.
