I thought I read somewhere that you can buy FOTL tickets even if you are not a hotel guest. I'm sure this has been asked and answered - but, I cannot find a thread on this.

Help?

Thanks!

We recently booked a Universal vacation to an off site hotel but one that was I guess approved by Universal. And for an extra fee we could have gotten Express Passes but we didn't but we're going to put them back on. Other than that I think that I heard that you can get a one day Express Pass for 15 dollars. I'm not positive on this though. Other than that, I don't know.

There is an Express Pass Plus that you can purchase but it is not the same benefit you get as an onsite guest. The difference is that onsite guests get unlimited FOTL all day long and the pass that can be purchased gives you FOTL once for each ride. Hope this helps. I beleive the Express Pass Plus costs around $20-$25 a person. Depending on how many persons there are it sometimes is just cheaper to get an onsite room which by the way would give you 2 full days of FOTL.

Just wondering where the most economical place is to stay on site? We are traveling in July and would like to visit IOA for one night. Is there a property hotel that would let us book a room for only one night?

Usually the cheapest resort is Royal Pacific. However, it is the conference hotel and is usually very full. Hard Rock would be the next expensive. You can get some good rates with AAA and annual pass discounts as well as entertainment book discounts. It does help to book as early as possible as the good deals sell out quickly.

You can also get FREE express passes from the machines in the park. They work like the Disney Fast Pass. You are issued a time later in the day to come back and go in the express entrance.

I have to agree. All of the discounts always book up quickly!

So there's no way to get an all day, unlimited Express Pass other than staying on site, correct?

That is correct.

Alrighty. I was just wondering because for about 23 dollars each, AAA could add an Express Pass but we had it canceled because I thought it was just the one time per day thing. We have admission for the length of our stay with Universal and the passes would work once per day. Do you think that we should have them added back on?
