Non fast pass holders in the fast pass queue

I hope we don't encounter this when we're at WDW next month.

One of the things I have always adored about WDW is that there is very very little of this going on. I'm not sure why. At DL and DCA you encounter a lot of line jumping, but not at WDW.
And for us, Americans now living overseas in a country where people NEVER wait their turn in line (they just push ahead and demand to be next, regardless of when their turn actually should be), it's always such a pleasure to come home and visit WDW where everyone does wait patiently in line.

If they don't anymore, it's just going to be one more proof that the whole world is going to hell. How depressing.

umm ... it is called the "Merge Point", perhaps the name has some significance? ... namely, after the merge point, there is no difference between the FP line and the Standby line, it's all one line.

Not necessarily. Offhand I am thinking of RnR... you walk up fastpass line and about halfway up you give your FP tickets to them and you continue walking up along side those in standby... maybe that's what she meant? Maybe she meant she was going through standby to the point where the people in FP hand their passes over and the CM let her scoot under/over the rail to get in the FP line?
I know atleast on that one ride (and probably many more if I think about it hard. LOL) the place you give the FP halfway up the FP line is NOT where you merge in with those in the standby line.

I haven't seen this going on yet but haven't been at the parks during the crazy summer or holiday season. Did you know that WDW is the only park that doesn't use a barcode scanning system on their fastpasses....correct me if I'm wrong. I think this would really help with the situation.

Is it possible for the keeper of the Fast Passes for your group to distribute them to each individual just prior to the area where you hand them to the CM? That way, each person hands over their own Fast Pass one at a time and others can't "join" your group.

Hey, that's what I was thinking. Why didn't you just give each one thier FP and that never would have happened. With that many people pushing and shoving you can't really expect the CM's to not get confused sometimes. In the future pass out the FP's.

this is why i love these forums. we go from a very few people who abuse the fastpass system, something i dont remember seeing at all the three times i have been there in the last year and a half, to the sad opinion that most cm's are uncaring, rude college students. why would someone even write that unless they were a deeply bitter, and resentful person. have a great day all.

I seem to remember RNR having the FP line to the far right side of the entry-way, and standby looping around on the left hand side. You get to the point where the FPs are handed in, and then make a left turn, walk past some of the folks in the standby line, and go up the ramp on the side of the building. After letting in some FP folks, the CM will then hold the FP line, and let in a few standby folks, who make a left turn and go up the ramp on the side of the bldg. (I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've ridden ... either way, though, I think PuckHeadBill's response was a bit on the rude side when it didn't have to be)

My hubby and I got into a tiff over something similar that happened to us in April at Bush Gardens in Tampa. We had waited over 45 minutes in a long line for the Congo River Rapids ride with our 8 year old daughter. The line stretched back along a bridge before it narrowed down near a glass cage containing monkeys (before you even entered a turnstile and the "maze" to get to the ride). We got up to the monkey cage area when I noticed 4 teenage boys coming off the ride (soaking wet). They came right back to the line and just sort of "blended" into it, pretending to look at the monkeys. They essentially cut everyone (including us) and merged themselves right back into line. I made the mistake of saying something to my husband and pointing them out. He's definitely not one to keep silent so I should have known better. He was fuming. Once we entered the turnstile and started into the maze, the 4 boys ended up in the line of the maze that was snaked in front of us. I asked him not to say anything (there were no ride attendants in sight), but he leaned over to a gentleman and his family right behind the cutters and asked if they had been in front of him all along. The gentleman said no, they had not, so of course my husband lets the 4 of them have it. He said stuff like "it takes real men to cut everyone in line" etc. The 4 of them had the deer in headlights look and turned around so they didn't have to look at him. That made him madder, to which he replied "oh sure, turn your backs when you get caught - very mature" or something to that effect. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me at the moment. Everyone around us heard every word, and I was raving mad at him for saying something. He apologized to me and a few people around us. I told him to just hold it until we found a ride attendant (which turned out to be another 20 minutes in line, until we got right up to the rafts). The next thing I knew, the 4 cutters were gone - vanished, nowhere to be seen. They must have been scared that someone would rat them out to the ride attendant. There were signs everywhere saying line cutters would be tossed from the park with no refund. After they left, several people in the maze thanked my husband for saying something. In hindsight, I guess it accomplished what everyone wanted, but it wasn't worth the aggravation in my opinion. Hopefully he'll hold his tongue next time, but I won't count on it!

The woman who snuck in with us yells to the CM "she's with us" and the CM lets her in.

My DH saw a little girl get turned down from entering the FastPass line when her family told the CM this at Space Mountain. She had really lost her FastPass but the rest of her family had theirs and the CM would not let her go through. So, it sounds like the CM at Stitch was being a little less strict.

We didn't see this happen last week but we didn't go on Stitch. We saw people waiting for their time to start and heard alot of people say that they didn't pay to use the FPs. I was so glad that I read up on them here so that we could eliminate the lines & see everything that we wanted to. I explained to several people what they needed to do and hope that it helped them some.
