Non fast pass holders in the fast pass queue

Last week at MK we got really irritated about this. Has anybody else witnessed it? If people keep abusing the system, Disney will end up doing away with it or changing it or something. Anyway, here is what we witnessed:

We got fast passes for Stitch and left to do other rides. Came back at our fast pass time and my DH handed all 5 FPs to the CM who asked who was with us. DH pointed at all of our party saying "this one, this one, etc...but not that one!" and pointed at a woman who entered the queue and just pushed her way in with our group. Apparently the CM didn't hear DH. Then this woman's 2 kids scoot under the ropes to join her. Then she's motioning at another woman yelling "just come on!" and the other woman attempts to join her in line but is stopped by the CM because, surprise, she DOESN'T have a FP. The woman who snuck in with us yells to the CM "she's with us" and the CM lets her in. DH proceed to mutter(loudly) that it really makes him mad when people abuse the system and can't wait their turn, etc, etc. He was really mad because the FPs had caused us to have to double back many times this day and do extra walking while we did other things while waiting for our FP time but we followed the rules and this woman thought she was exempt.

Anyway, has anybody else witnessed this? What did you do? DH was all about staring this woman down and making comments to me that she could hear but we didn't really do anything about it. I wish now we had gone and ratted her out but oh well.

I just roll my eyes and let it go. It's not worth wasting my energy on...

isn't there usually 2 CM's that check the fastpasses? One at the entrance to the attraction line, and one where the fastpass line merges with the regular line? I remember the 2nd CM usually is the one that you have to actually hand the FP ticket to. How did they manage to get past 2 CM's? That's awful if they did. The CM's should be a little more diligent about checking the FP tickets.

Is it possible for the keeper of the Fast Passes for your group to distribute them to each individual just prior to the area where you hand them to the CM? That way, each person hands over their own Fast Pass one at a time and others can't "join" your group.

It does bug me when people abuse the system, but I've started making a conscious effort to not let it ruin my time at the Happiest Place on Earth. Easier said than done, though.

If I was a CM, I would get these type of people in SO much trouble. Whats the consiquence for cutting in line anyway? I know at Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio) you get kicked out for cutting in line.

Usually that's the case but for the Stitch ride, you just handed your FP to the CM when you entered the FP queue....in thinking about this now, I realize that means anyone in the regular line could also have gone under the ropes to join the FP line. Most rides you don't hand in your FP until you are at the merge point but not this one....

Usually this is how we do it but in this particular case, we were already at the CM when DH dug them out of his pocket so there seemed to be no point in handing them out. I guess had we done this the lady wouldn't have been able to shuffle in with us but she was kind of pushing past us as DH was talking to the CM.

Sadly, it would have probably been a waste of your time telling the CM.

I have been a chaperone for Disney's Grad Night for many years. (If you don't know, the MK is open from 10pm to 4am for Seniors every weekend @April.) Last year, there were a group of kids jumping over the rails to cut in front of everyone at the Indy cars.

I said something to the students (they were not mine), I was of course ignored, then said something to the CM. When the CM spoke to them they lied & instead of listening to all the chaperones in line, took the kids word, & let them cut. Everyone was very upset. Made me wonder why they even want chaperones there if they don't listen to us!!

Disney will avoid confrontation at all costs, so they probably will not do anything. It's not worth your time to get upset, but I know how you feel!!! :sad2:

I've seen people walking out of the fastpass line in the tunnel at Space Mt, I assume because they got to the front of the line and were turned back. Perhaps they jumped over the rail.

How many are there? Disney will certainly do something about the problem if there are dozens if not hundred of miscreants involved at any one place and time.

There are THOUSANDS of 18 year-old there!! We fill up the entire MK. Let's put it this way, there are so many busses that they fill up the MK parking lot on one whole side. (We get stuck in "Grumpy" every year, & I bet you can guess why they call it "Grumpy!" LOL)

They do take care of serious things, I unfortunately have been head chaperone to which they give a beeper to, and yes, have been to see "Disney Jail" to pick up a couple of mine!

As far as the small stuff, skipping in line, being rowdy & obnoxious, nope. You just have to remember where you are, why you went, & have a good time!!!
It really is fun!

When DH and I witness something like this (not just at WDW), I will turn to him and say, in the nicest, sweetest tone of voice, and loud enough for the offenders to hear "Hmm, what's interesting about this world that we live in, is that some people seem to think the rules don't apply to them! The rules are for everyone one else, but not that select group of people! Hmm, interesting". Or something to that effect. I don't get upset about it, but it gets the point across as nice as possible. Then I let it go.

At the end of the day, the offenders have to answer to themselves.

Not the same thing, I wasn't TRYING to cut, but when I took my niece on Soarin, the CM told me the regular line was about 30 minutes, so I decided that wasn't bad and went in the regular line....there was no one else in the regular line up to the merge point where the FP riders gave the CM their FP tickets. It happened to be my birthday and I had my pin on, also my niece was a little nervous about the ride and the CM was telling her it was great and not to worry, ect....then after he let the FP people in (about 6 people), he wished me a Happy Birthday and told us to go ahead into the FP line. I was very surprised and pleased, but some grumpy old man all by himself just in front of us, kept grumbling and asking me if I knew I was in the FP line. It did not effect him one iota, but he kept on, even though he knew the CM waved us over and that I didn't just cut.

I would never try to sneak into an FP line if I didn't have one, but if a CM tells me/lets me in the FP line, I'm going! LOL!

My job at WDW is to have fun - catching FP trespassers is the CM's job. I would certainly note to the CM if I see something blatant and obvious (like the line jumpers at the Speedway on grad night) or if someone is trying to claim in be in my party but I would not make comments to someone in line with me if I think they shouldn't be there. As the previous poster mentioned, it is possible they were allowed into the FP line and perhaps it isn't any of my business to confront them directly. :rolleyes1

I notice a family who was not American head all the way of the FP line in Safari at AK. When they got to the CM who takes the FP's, she asked them for their FP's. They appeared to be unaware of what the FP's are, and she waved them through. It would have been a far walk to go back to the end of the standby line (it was a crowded day), they also had two children under the age of 5 with them. It did not affect me one way or the other, but I can see how the language barrier could be a problem.

I really hope when I go no one tries to cut me or push past me because I won't let it happen! There was this time when I took my kids to Chuckie Cheese and they won quite a bit of tickets as well as every other kid there. I waited in a long line so my kids can turn in their tickets at that machine that counts all of your tickets. When the line finally gets to the family before me I watched another family go to another machine that was broke. After discovering that the machine was broke, the mother in that family tried to ease over to the line I was in and cut me. :sad2: As soon as the family in front of me was finished I pushed past her and started insertig my kids tickets into the machine. She tried to argue with me and tell me she was in front of me the whole time when I saw where she was before she cut me. I told her this and she said "Whatever!" and I said "Yeah! Whatever!" and she walked away. I swear I won't let anyone do this to me! pirate:

Now this above is different and I would not mind this at all it's just the people who just cut in front of you just because they think they can.

i try not to let these people ruin my hard earned holiday. If they wanna behave like ignorant fools then let them :smooth:

umm ... it is called the "Merge Point", perhaps the name has some significance? ... namely, after the merge point, there is no difference between the FP line and the Standby line, it's all one line.

If I have the chance to stand my ground I will. If we see someone gaming the system we'll exchange eye rolls and say "some pigs..."

If it's a particularly rotten teen/pre-teen we'll exchange the phrase "visiting days are Tuesday". They'll know the penitentiary schedule soon enough.

What those people don't realize is that's why their batteries die, tires go flat and the hardest to reach lightbulb is always the one to go out. It's called karma and you get double bad karma points for trying to go one up at Disney World.

I relax and enjoy my vacation knowing they'll be paying for their deeds long after we're both home.
