One of DDs friends is coming with us this year and I've been told I can't add her to our current account rewards travel insurance.

She's only just turned 16 and I can't find anyone willing to quote on-line for her as an individual.

Has anyone else encountered this problem ? What did you do ?

Have you tried Post Office?
We took DS friend Easter 2007, had his 14th birthday while we were there, PO insured him no problem.

Just checked, still possible. Quote it just gave me was £28 for 15 days (don't forget you land a day after your flight leaves US), £40.50 annual policy.

Thanks Wayne

Will have a look now. Eldest daughter is 18 now as well so I'll need to insure her separately as well.

DS was 18 when we travelled last year and he was included on our insurance as he lives with us and was under 21.

On our 2nd trip we took eldest DS girlfriend who was 16. Her mum went to her local travel agent & bought insurance from them with no probs.
If looking online it may pay to phone the company.

We also took a letter (plus Photocopies) from her parents giving us permission to take her out of country & to act in a medical emergency.
