We bought non-expiring tickets back in 2013, We are planning on using the remaining days in May of 2017. My question is, how to we redeem them since they are the old plastic credit card type passes and I know they use magic bands now. Will we lose $.....on these? Just hoping someone on here can shed some light on how to proceed? I cannot find much info on this on disney's website.

You will not lose your money. If you can not convert it on line; you can bring them to a customer service in the parks or Disney Springs to get them converted. I have one from 2006 that can not be converted online. Going to try to phone the call center if they can help.

I did this in 2015 for a pass purchased in 2012. It did not have the required information to add to MDE and they could not help me via phone or online. So went to guest services the first day and they swapped out the old ticket media for the new ticket media, which allowed me to add it to MDE and use my magicband going forward. No problems and no extra cost.

You do NOT have to use MagicBands.
Flat plastic tickets still work, although you will have to convert your old tickets for new RFID tickets, if you want to use them.
Magic Bands are simply one "option."

And it can also be done at the ticket booths before you enter the parks. It takes almost no time at all and is hassle free. I like the plastic cards better anyway.

I added my daughter and husband to account and it showed them as having a ticket already. I called Dis and they could see that they were our original (from 2002, but swapped later from paper tickets) non expiring. Could also see each had 2 days left on them. pretty cool.

Here's a question -- we have a couple of 2013 passes that have never been used. They are the paper passes - 8 days and I think have 8 "pluses" on them for the water park and don't expire.

I get that we can convert them to something else at guest services, but when we first get to Disney -- are first stop was going to be Blizzard Beach. Will they work there as is?

If they are not plastic RFID tickets, you need to get them converted.

BUT... You can go to the Guest Relations or ticket booths outside the water park and get them converted before you go to the entrance gates.

thanks -- they are not RFID tickets, but I'm happy I can do it at the water park -- and don't have to go to Disney Springs to do it.

In fact, Cheshire Figment, the long-time resident DISboards ticket expert, often worked at the ticket booths at the water parks.
CF is much missed, as he passed away within the last year.
