Our 60 day fast pass window opened Monday morning for a trip for 6. We are two families on a split stay. We were told by multiple CMs that we would have to book our on site cash stay and then later our David's rental as Disney sees these as two separate stays, even though our tickets spanned the vacation and were linked to the first stay. I planned fast passes for the entire trip, just in case.
Monday morning when the window opened the other party and I started booking fast passes. We are both arriving on the same day but we are a late arrival and will not be going into the park. As he booked for his 3 on arrival day, I went to the end of our window and tried to book. Because he has an old ticket linked to his account with days left on it, MDE prioritized that ticket for ME and I couldn't book him. I booked for 5 (my family and the rest of his family) and then we walked through the reservations on the phone so he could try to match times with a fp for himself. Thankfully it worked, mostly, and we have mostly exact overlaps with just a 5 to 10 minute difference.
I called Disney and got my theory confirmed that his ticket blocked me but not him, got a few moved a bit, and was told it might be possible that guest services can correct in the park.
We were lucky that slinky dog was on day 68.
Thank you everyone for this community which prepared me for the constant mess that is Disney IT.
He corrected this priority issue at guest services on our last trip. Be warned, if you have old tickets on your account with days left on them, not those phantom passes everyone has got, call Disney before your 60 day mark and make sure you are cleared to book.
