Having listened to the 1/27 podcast...and knowing that a good thing HAD to run out at SOME time... I am about to take the last possible leap at non-expiring tickets. But...wooooooooo...it's a costly proposition, so I am asking you vets to help me out here:

1) If I bought THREE 10 day/park hopping/non-expiration tickets... are they TRULY as announced? Could I (not going to...but is it possible to) go to Disney for 1 day a year for 30 years? THAT non-expiring?

2) Obviously - as stated - I would be buying them for ME (alone). So the second and third 10-day ticket might not even be STARTED for a number of years. Is that STILL ok???

3) What about adding on the Water parks Fun and more? Would these extra parks remain an option on these tickets "to infinity and beyond"?

4) Would would buying a Water parks Fun and More option on non-expiring tickets LATER include smaller parks and activities YET to be conceptualized by Disney?

5) Hmmmmm... think that's it for now.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your help....from a person who has always loved Disney....but only DREAMED of becoming a regular visitor.

Yes. You can use 1 day a year for the next 30 years. We have been using our tickets for the past 5 to 10 years this way. We would use 1 or 2 days on a trip and skip years.

If you do go in future years and go consecutive days, buy another ticket and on your magic band, prioritize the one the you want to use. (Break even point - 4 or 5 days) A ticket is not technically activated until first use.

Keep the non expiring for trips that you know you will go 1 or 2 days.

If you buy a 10 day non expiring Water Park Fun and More, you get 10 park visits plus 10 visits to the Water Parks and Disney Quest - note that is a very minimal add on for cost versus without the Water Park Fun and More ($3 difference on a well know ticket site).

Thanks for the reply already. I DID think about another question.

How does ALREADY HAVING non-expiration tickets effect the future possibility of free dining plan visits?

Can I NOT get free dining without buying NEW tickets also?

To get free dining you HAVE to buy a package, which includes tickets. I think the current requirement for tickets is two days but Disney could change that at any time. So even though you have tickets you will need to buy tickets to get free dining.

The non-expiring option is great when you are visiting for a day or two at a time. If you are staying and visiting parks for longer periods of time, a non-expiring ticket may not be a good deal.

Hmmmm... thanks for both of your responses. This has given me a lot to think about. Not living CLOSE to Disney World (therefore traveling TO Disney requires actual effort, available time, and $$) I might have to reconsider how much $$ I want to put out for future tickets.

I am HOPING to do a free dining discount in the future...so that adds to my consideration as well.

Hmmmmmm...lots to think about.

as long as you will be going back again and again, i don't think you'd be wasting any money at all with buying non-expiring tickets now. if you have a big trip you want the dining plan for, just save the tickets you've bought now for another trip. in my mind, if you have the $, disney tickets are always worth it :D

Hi. Are the 10 day non expiring tickets going up in price? W always purchase these tickets.

Thank you.

The group announced on the 1/27 podcast that the prices are rumored to go up in February...and the option of non-expiration is being abandoned.

I think the only value in purchasing this non-expiring ticket is if you plan to visit Disney World for only 1-2 days at a time. For example, if you went on a cruise every year and wanted to visit the parks a day prior and/or a day after the cruise, it might be worth it since you would be paying a premium for a single day ticket each time. However, if most of your trips are 3 days or longer, I think you are better off just purchasing a pass that expires after 14 days.

I disagree! A 10 day park hopper non-expiring is $755.01 and 3 - 3/4 day park hoppers are $1049.25. Big savings for only 3 trips!

I'm not convinced the non-expiring option is going away, it is still a rumor.

Yes, for the no-expiration to make sense financially, you need to get three trips out of the ticket, not all in the same year.
1 trip per year = regular ticket
2 trips per year (or more) = annual pass
2 trips, more than 12 months apart = two regular tickets
3 trips, less than 10 days total, more than 12 months apart = No-Expiration ticket.

I'm also wondering about doing non-expiring tickets. We would need to buy enough for four people since my daughter will definitely be three before we make it back to Disney. I also heard that you can upgrade partly used non-expiring tickets from child to adult. Our last trip was 5 park days but in the future I would like a break day and eventually hope to combine Disney with Universal so we can see Harry Potter World. If we got 8 day non-expiring to split between two trips of four days each would that make sense. I added up the cost and it seemed like we would save around $150. We are planning on trips around every three years with our next trip being late 2017 or early 2018. Would $150 in savings be worth it or are there too many risks such as not being able to go because our financial situation changes or somebody has medical issues or something?

Would you consider buying non expiring tickets for a trip that is 5 years out? 4 adults and 2 kids...this would be a significant savings (of course, IF you have the cash to do so and not putting it on a card to rack up interest)

I'll tell you our experience. We bought 5, 10 day NE park hopping, water park and more tickets in 2005 for around $350 a piece. Wow they sure have went up. We had 3 adult ticket and 2 kids tickets. The kids were upgraded free of charge to adult tickets when they became 10. We've used these tickets for 3 trips and still have admissions left. They never expire we will get back some day and use the rest whether its the next 5 years or 20 years. I'm glad we bought these tickets and wouldn't hesitate to do so if I were in your shoes if I had that much money to outlay. I'm really shocked at the price of these tickets, I could never do it now, glad I did it then.

I've been kicking around buying non expiration tickets for a while. I would need 4. A 10 day non expiration comes to a @$75 per day in the park when purchased on UT with the mousesavers newsletter discount. It's an absolute no brainer to pay the $15-$16 extra for the fun & more option. That's like $1.50 a day for a waterpark or other option. We have recently started 3 day weekends, and 1 day in the park would be great.

I have to imagine that the value increases the longer you wait to use it, as prices will only go up. $75 a day today.....for entrance 5-10 years from now I can't imagine what park tickets will cost then. But, it really only makes sense if you are going to visit for 1-2 days at a time.

We don't do the NE tickets, but we have bought many tickets years ahead of time. We have two DVC APs and 4 park hoppers bought 3 or 4 years ago that we are finally going to start using this summer. I like that we won't have to purchase tickets for quite some time.

I don't think you added up those costs correctly. Two 4-day tickets will be less than one 8-day no-expiration ticket, unless you're also including hopping or water parks in there.

We bought NE tickets in 2007. No regrets. Used for a few trips along with buying other tickets depending on what we needed or was available. Still have some 'extras' to use up from those NE tickets. And yes, WOW, the price has sure gone up for NE.

I might have made a mistake. But I did include park hopper since we loved park hopping last time we visited. Anyways my husband doesn't like the idea and it's a lot of money being laid out for not that much savings. Perhaps if we had a more concrete plan of when we'd be returning.

Do you plan on multiple trips once you hit that 5 year mark? Or is this a single trip you'll be taking in 2020? If it's a single trip, not need to purchase "non-expiring" as tickets won't expire until 14 days after first use. You may buy them now and as long as you don't use them they are good.

Enjoy your vacation!
