So I found a non expiration ticket I had for my son that I recall got sick and missed a few days that week. Curious what GS will do when I present this? Do I get a credit for those days in MDE? Can I pay the difference to make them adult entries now? If someone has some some insight please share I'd love to know what to expect.

Was it a true non-expiring ticket -- as in it could be used on multiple visits? Or was it a ticket that expires 14-days after first use? Most regular tickets at that time expired 14-days after first use unless you had paid an extra fee for the "no-expire" option.

If it's an unused day on a regular MYW ticket, it expired 14-days after he first entered a park and there is no value left.
If it's an unused day on a non-expiring ticket, it can be used whenever you wish (with a theme park reservation). It cannot be upgraded and there is no credit to be refunded. If he was a child then, it can be converted to an adult ticket for him at no extra expense.

Yes! I bought a 10-day non-expiring in 2008. Used 3 days that year and saved the other 7 for my 2011 trip. It was great! Biggest regret is I didn't add on the water parks option for $50. I could have had tickets for life at the water parks.

Guest services at DS and the parks can load the tickets in MDE.

You probably won't need to make a park reservation when using those tickets.

Why would they not need to make a park reservation? I thought all tickets required park reservations for use nowadays.

A few months ago MDE said reservations not required when I brought up a very old ticket. Must have been an IT issue. That ls language is now missing

I bought a non-expiring ticket when my son was 4 years old. I went to guest services when he was 16 and they converted it to an adult ticket with no problems. He is still using it and he is 24.

I had many 10 day non expiring that at one time included water parks. I have so many water park visits to use that now typing about it, maybe will use next visit.

Thank you.

Once they exchange the old ticket for a new one at DS Guest Services, the ticket can be assigned to anyone of any age if they can't tell who it's for. I believe you still need to make a park reservation, but not positive. I exchanged some older ones on one of our trips but haven't added them to MDE yet. Once assigned, they can not be re-assigned, I was told.

I have an AP. Obviously I won't be using my old tickets any time soon.
When making a park reservation i see this notice just above my old ticket

I have a few of these tickets in my MDE account. You absolutely need to make a park reservation to use this ticket. With the recent update to the park reservation system, you can choose which ticket will be used on which day, which has been great for people like me who have several ticket types connected to us in MDE.

See if you can add it yourself in MDE (you should be able to), and if not, then call to see if Disney can help you add it. Assign it to whomever you like in your My Family & Friends, and make park reservations for your next trip. The number of days remaining will always show in the MDE app but no on the website. Good luck!

We have several water park days left from non-expiring tickets. I have to remember to use them!

I remember years ago Disney used to sell multi-day tickets that never expired. We used to buy those and then save the unused portion for a future Disney trip. It was cheaper to buy those then to buy daily admission tickets. It is a more recent thing where tickets are only good for 14 days from first use. If you have those older paper tickets, I would go to Guest Services who will be able to add them to your MDE account. Regardless of what type of tickets you have, you still need daily park reservations.

Wow, interesting!
I think the ticket is from 2005. I'll speculate it isn't worth the IT resources to include the old tickets in the reservation system. I had to spend a lot of time at DS guest services getting the old tickets loaded into MDE.

Look at my attachment in post 10. You can't make a reservation, nor apparently is one needed, with very old tickets. I'll speculate, not enough old tickets around to be worth the IT resources. I'll further speculate the reservation system doesn't work with tickets which were never date specific.

Guest services at DS loaded my tickets into DME years ago. It's possible Disney closed the loophole for tickets loaded after the implementation of park reservations.

YMMV

Once the non expiring ticket is added to your MDE, is it still non expiring? I have non expiring park hoppers with 5 days remaining. Will I still be able to use just a day or 2 & the other days will remain as non expiring? Or would I need to use all 5 days on the same trip?

No there are single day entry tickets. I was the OP and went through the whole process and to be honest it was fairly simple. Guest services made it look like they've ton is alot as it didn't take long after verifying ownership though some basic qualifying question.
