Does MS share the same system with central booking when reserving non dvc resorts or are thru them are dvc members allocated a certain number of rooms per each resort????
In short if I can get a ressie on dw.com shouldnt I be able to get it from MS?
:confused3

Yes, if you can find a reservation thru CRO, MS should also be able to make the reservation for you using points.

Be sure to do the math on those reservations and remember the $95 fee for making the reservation.

Also remember that you cannot make a reservation and stay at a non-DVC resort during the last 2 months of your Use Year. DVC haas to be able to make a DVC reservation using your points to "pay" for the non-DVC reservation. You can stay at a non-DVC resort during the final 2 months of the Use Year, but that reservation must be made more than 2 months from the end of the UY.

Webmaster, can I run this by you?
We just purchased AKV, 225 pts Aug. UY. So I banked the 225 pts into 2008 since there is not much time left in 07 year. We also received 270 points from the purchase. Using these combined points we wanted to do a monorail resort in December. I called today and MS said the only thing they had was a garden view in Poly. I just checked DW.com and Poly had garden, lagoon and park view. GF also had options..... I don't know what the deal is.
Any advice?
Thanks

Doc - On January 1, 2008, the rule changed to "The Rule of Four" and is now 4 months (rather than 2 months). It doesn't apply to the Disneyland Resorts, though.

Call again - you may have gotten an inexperienced CM. If you get the same answer, politely ask your question and see if the CM would check with a Supervisor.

It's also possible that the rooms shown as available on DW.com (in the other categories) are only available to CRO guests buying packages.

I do plan on calling. Just seems crazy to me that out of 3 resorts there was nothing available. I wasn't calling for the week of X-mas or anything.

BTW I just checked room only and still they were showing plenty of choices at POLY and GF. I'll call when I have a chance in the morning.

Ok, called this morning and again the only thing available was a garden view room at the Poly. I then asked why dw.com was showing rooms available at Poly and GF and the cm stated that the resorts only hold out so many rooms for points, the majority are cash rooms.
Does this sound reasonable?? I think it does but it is upsetting for me.

It sounds reasonable to me, that they only have a set number of rooms available to DVC for the pre-negotiated price, just like they block a certain number of rooms for special events.

We were told this when we tried to stay at a monorail resort for our upcoming trip. They had availability buy after trying 3 different CMs, it was no use. They all said the same thing. It made me think that they had type a big warning something to this effect: "WARNING!!! This person does not take no for an answer. She's trying to book a monorail resort, just politely tell her no! She'll only move on to a colleague in a day or two." :rotfl:
