Non-DVC Member Looking to Rent Dec 10-16, 2006 at VWL

We are coming to WDW December 10-16, 2006 and will be a party of two adult couples. Two rooms at WL are pretty pricey and I am wondering if getting a 2 BR villa would be easier on the pocketbook. Are the bedrooms comparable in the 2 BR villas? What would the approximate cost be? Do you mkae a deposit of pay the full amount up front?

If you only have two couples, a two bedroom would probably be pretty big, since it sleeps 8 people. If you don't want to have to sleep in the same room, a one bedroom has a room with a king size bed, and the living area has a pull out couch. I would go with a 1 bedroom over a 2 bedroom if it's only for two couples, and also, it's a lot less expensive.

I thought about that - the one bedroom with the pull-out couch. But I would feel bad sleeping in a bed with them on a pull-out couch. That's why I'm thinking 2 BR. Also for both couples privacy - does the 1 BR only have one bathroom. We wouldn't want to share.

You are correct. If you stay in a one bedroom, someone would have to sleep on the pull out sofa and you would be sharing a bathroom. You do have another alternative. You could rent 2 studios and you would each have your own room. That is less expensive than a 2 bedroom for your time frame.

The price per point and terms of a rental are up to the renter - most rent from between $10.00 and $12.00 per point.

For December 10 - 16 you would need 211 points for a 2 bedroom or 83 points each for a studio (total of 166 for two). One interesting thing for you to note is that weekend nights (Friday and Saturday) cost alot more points so if you vacation from Sunday to check OUT on Friday you will save some money. If you drop the Friday night the points needed drop to 150 for a 2 bedroom and 60 for a studio. (120 total)
