Going Easter week and get in the 1st night at 11pm. Thinking it does not pay to use pts on room since by the time we get car and get to resort and get kids to bed it will be close to 1am.

Thinking was just staying at the Hyatt at the airport. Saw a rate of $188 which is the same as a Value resort for same.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

thx

The only advantage in staying onsite at a Value would be that you can drop all your stuff with Bell services first thing in the morning and be off to the parks and let your stuff catch up with you later when your room is ready.

Check to see if there are any AP discounts available if you have an AP. I've been doing first nights at the values and usually can get a discounted rate around $85-90. Since its a holiday week, I realize that this might not be available. Here's some pixie dust for a better rate pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We are using Marriott points for a one night stay the evening we fly in late before checking into BWV the next day. Just need a place to sleep..

I really liked staying at the Hyatt our first night. So simple.

We had a rental car, so we woke up early, headed to the WDW resort, did the checkin process, dropped our bags and continued on with our day!

I priceline a hotel near the airport, shuttle over, and get the rental or ME in the am.

We're staying AoA our first night. I won't have to deal with the bags at all. We'll have them moved from bell services at AoA to the THV the next day. I'd check into staying on property. If you arrive after 10 pm and use ME, you'll have to grab your own bags.

we are renting a car and flight lands at 11pm. Figured by the time we get the car, load it, get to Disney and check in it will be close to 1am before the kids go to sleep. If we had an earlier flight would have definitely driven to Disney

Looked at the All Stars and non disney resorts across from DTD. All Star's was same price as MCO Hyatt. One resorts across the street from DTD were a little cheaper but just thought it wasn't worth it to save $30.

Was just afraid the Hyatt at the airport would be skeptical but I guess it's a Hyatt so can't be too bad.

We stayed there once, a late arrival just prior to a Disney Cruise the next day, and we enjoyed the hotel very much. Nice to just walk from plane to check in after getting our luggage.

We got in a day early this past trip and stayed at the Buena Vista Suites, it was nice and clean and had free breakfast. We had a queen suite for under $100 for the night

We have the same philosophy. We have driven from 4am and arrive in Orlando around 3pm (having two stops at the 3 hour marks) and are too exhausted on the first day to do anything.

I have found however that for our family of 5 it does not pay to stay in WDW or even in Orlando as the rates tend to be a bit high for us at the accommodations we are accustomed to. Driving straight through is quite tiring so we have also tried staying at the GA/FL border, but that is a bit too far away. Our rule of thumb that is that if we stay overnight the place must provide breakfast as that way we get lodging and a meal.

So this year we are staying about 2 hours away at an Embassy Suites (free breakfast) so the drive is quite quick and there will be little traffic going to WDW on Sunday morning. Hopefully this will allow us to enjoy a rested first day.

If you are getting in late and have young children, the Hyatt is a very good choice. You will have the kids in bed very quickly. And the next day you just go get your rental car or go to the ME can head over to WDW.

We have stayed at the Hyatt twice and both time we had late flights in, and I was so glad to just get to a room and get a good nights sleep before heading to WDW the next day.
