Hiya everyone,

Are there any non-drivers on here that would like to share their experiences? DFi and I are looking to stay onsite at WDW (first time we've stayed onsite, first time in FL without family members who can drive!) so we are fine getting to all Disney parks but DFi is very keen to go to Sea World so any thoughts (apart from taxis!) on whether this would be possible as non-drivers.

I lived in FL (worked in disney on international program) for 6mths 5yrs ago and I know that the public transport is not very good.... unless its got better?

Thanks everyone,
Gaspodé

Hi There
Although I am a driver at home, I prefer not to drive whilst in the states(bit of a chicken on my own) so when we wanted to go to Discovery Cove and Seaworld, and the shopping malls, we normally just buy tickets to go with Mears Transport, you phone them up the night before and tell them what time you want to be picked up and then ring them 2 hours before you want to come home.

I have heared conflicting reports about Mears , but generally they worked ok for us and are much cheaper than taxis.

Hope that helps

Sue

Here is a thread that I posted on, which leads to another thread I posted on, giving my experience of using the Lynx bus. It also gives some help with Mears. :)

Thanks for the link again Bexx, I used the lynx system last time I was there and we're taking friends this year who may want to go so I'll print the details for them :goodvibes

you can get a lynx bus from the transportation center to seaword.it
will drop you off next to the carpark, its just a short walk to the main gate.
you can also get the i-ride trolly at stop 39 which can take you up and down
international drive, get a day pass you will be able to get on and off the i-ride
as you like and only pay once.

O/T I know but just wondered how you applied for the international program for Disney? DD10 is eager to do this in her gap year (and I thought I was a planning freak!!) so any info would be great.

Thanks
Lynn

Hi,
we used the trolley when we went to Seaworld and it was very easy and cheap to use, you can get on and off when you want as well which is good if you want to see other bits of I Drive. :)

Hi,

Another vote for the Lynx bus - this is a very cheap and easy way to get from Disney's TTC to I-Drive. The bus stops right outside SeaWorld's car parking area. You can pick up a schedule on the buses as I don't think Disney hotels will have them.

You may meet some CM's you worked with, we found many of them on the buses going to/from work!

Hiya Everyone,

Thanks for the info! So great to hear that using the Lynx bus is good :) I am surprised to hear it goes to the transportation center but this will be perfect!!

Arieliwish - I'll drop you a PM shortly about the international program, I decided to take part when I was 7 so your DD has the right idea ;)

Best Wishes all,
Gaspodé

Thanks, I look forward to the PM. I've just noticed your ticker countdown is on the same count as mine! And its our first time onsite too! We fly from Manchester with First Choice on Sept 13, staying in Carribean Beach Resort.

Hi again Arieliwish

Sorry I haven't PMed yet... busy at work lol!

I will get to you this evening, feel free to ask me anything about the WDWIP :)

Cool, Caribbean Beach how great! We are staying in Pop Century from 16th to 30th - so looking forward to it !!

Best Wishes,
Gaspodé
