Last October I took a trip with extended family. My mom had a really bad knee (that she just had knee replacement surgery for in Jan.) so she rented a wheelchair for the week (well really one each time we entered the park but she paid all at once).
However she didn't get to see much of down town Disney since she didn't have one there. She also had a hard time getting back to the resort or standing for buses etc at times.
We are going again with her next Sept. She may be fine by then but in case she isn't I was hoping I could get some information from all of you.
If we rent a wheel chair that folds could we have her get out of it and just fold it like a stroller for the bus rides? She can get out and walk, stairs are doable now just slow so I'm sure by then she will be fine for small bits there. It just would seem like a waste to take up 3 seats on the bus for the wheelchair if she doesn't need it. Especially as we won't get an ECV (mom's driving of things she is used to scares me, never mind her first time in an ECV in a crowded park...).
