DH wants to go to mexico for christmas. :thumbsup2
We just got back from WDW in Feb so we are ready to go again...but he is stuck on something new. :sunny:

anyone here ever take kids to Cancun, Cozumel, etc....???
we will fly so cruising is out. besides we are on doing DCL in June.

my DS will be 11 and DD will be 8. i am very concerned about what the kids will find to do - they are so used to disney and being "stimulated" pixiedust:

any ideas or comments would be appreciated

I went to Sonora Bay, Mexico and stayed at Club Med. About five years ago. It was a great time all things were inclusive of course. Beautiful resort and excellent staff. Its not a WDW vacation, but it was a wonderful place to spend two weeks. Sonora Bay is on the Pacific Ocean side of Mexico. :)

You might want to look into one of the all-inclusives for families. I hear constantly how busy they keep the kids and it sounds like fun for the grownups too.

Would the kids be interested in ruins? I know that I loved things like that when I was their age.

In the Riviera Maya (just south of Cancun), Iberostar Paraiso Lindo. http://www.visitus-inc.com/iberostar.asp?conccodi=3&codiconc=76&idiocodi=2&session=4311155

I have heard a lot of great things about this resort as well. DH's boss has taken his family there (I think his kids are jr. high aged) and they loved it.

The Riviera Maya area is very interesting. It seems to have more activities and less of a party atmosphere. Check out www.tripadvisor.com for customer reviews of different resorts.
