Non-Disney travel insurance

Can anyone recommend non-Disney travel insurance? I'm renting DVC points via a broker so I can't buy Disney trip insurance and I've never used anyone else.

I use TravelGuard when I do other big vacations, and even had to use it once when we had to cancel for a death in the family. They are great.

I used this website when I was looking. I chose Travel Insured when I rented points in June 2013 and again when I rented points for our upcoming trip in October. They had the best price for the coverage we wanted. It was $100 for my husband and me and our daughter (age 9) was included free. I didn't have to use it on my June trip and I hope not to have to use it for our Oct. trip, but it's nice to have just in case.

Travelex Insurance is priced well with several choices for coverage. Their claims process is easy if you need to use it, and claims get paid promptly once the completed paperwork is filed. So many companies have good rates, but when and if you need to make a claim they are not always easy to work with!

About three years ago, DH and I were supposed to go on a Disney cruise. We had Allianz as our insurer. Less than a month before our trip, my father was diagnosed with cancer. My mom and he were supposed to keep our boys, but my dad was supposed to start chemo and they had no idea what shape he would be in, etc. I give all this info because Allianz reimbursed us fully and without ANY hassle I truly thought we would have to "fight " for the benefits. The customer service rep was so sympathetic and wonderful at a very difficult time. So, I HIGHLY recommend them!
