There are a million and one offsite golf courses to choose from so I'm hoping someone has some personal experience with some of them.

Have you or a loved one golfed anywhere offsite? Where? Would you recommend it?

Thanks!

My DBIL raved about Mystic Dunes that a fellow Diser told me about so I passed on to him.

Orange County National is a great course.

Does he want to stay near WDW, or would he be willing to travel around Orlando a bit? Is there a set price range?

Many, many to choose from.I go with a group every year for our annual golf trip and Mystic Dunes is always on our to play list.Orange County National is also excellent. Celebration and Falcon's Fire are two really nice courses. We also like Highlands Reserve.

Hi, I play a lot of golf in the area and depending on when you go, price is a big issue...the big 4 in the area within 15 minutes of Disney are Mystic Dunes, Celebration, Falcon's Fire and Orange County National...all of these will be well over $115/round after Jan 1st and before April 15th.
Legends and Highlands reserve will be under $100 during this prime time.
One of my favs is Southern Dunes down Hwy 27 about 20 minutes to Haines City...excellent course!

Hope this helps...Ted

I've heard the Rosen course is good...but I don't play golf. Celebration is good (and my dad raved about their driving range) too.

Basically, most courses in the tourist area are good, because they all compete with each other. Its when you start venturing more to the suburbs when you have to be more careful. If you happen to know someone who lives in Bay Hill, Isleworth, or Lake Nona, I would highly recommend that. Its pricey, but they are amazing courses.

I also agree with Ted, Southern Dunes in Haines City is a great course.

Another vote for Orange County and Champions Gate as well. Grand Cypress also has 2 awesome courses, but they'll cost you a pretty penny if you are not a resort guest. I believe Metrowest (near Universal) may be a little cheaper than some of the others, and I found it to be a nice course as well.

Thank you all so much! I'll send these all to him so he can check out their sites and see how many we can afford to book him at =)

i recommend Falcon's Fire, Ginn Reunion Resort's golf course (a lot of celebrity tournaments are hosted there), and Celebration. Those are 3 great courses that you will truly enjoy.:cool2:
