What non-Disney gift cards are accepted in the parks and at downtown Disney? I know Rainforest Café will accept Landry's gift cards-is there any other Landry's owned restaurant on property? Does Build A Bear accept gift cards and all the Starbucks? Any others that I am missing?

Disney gift cards are accepted in the actual parks, of course. In Downtown Disney, you can use Disney gift cards at World of Disney, Marceline's Confectionery, D Street and at Anna & Elsa's Boutique.

You can probably also use something like a Visa, MasterCard or similar gift card in the 2 parks and in DTD. I think that Starbucks gift cards can be used in the parks (at the 2 Starbucks locations), but just without being able to claim any of the Starbucks rewards.

Downtown Disney, on the other hand, is a whole different ballgame. Yes, the Landry's cards can be used at RFC. There are no other Landry's restaurants in Downtown Disney. You can use Earl of Sandwich gift cards at Earl of Sandwich, of course. You can use Jamba Juice gift cards at Jamba Juice, Haagen Dazs at Haagen Dazs, Build-A-Bear at Build-A-Bear, etc. .

The Patina Group owns a few of the restaurants in Downtown Disney -- Tortilla Jo's, Naples, Catal and Uva Bar. I don't know if they have gift cards available. I also have not checked for Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen gift cards or La Brea Bakery gift cards.

At the Starbucks in Downtown Disney you can use a Starbucks gift card and also get the Starbucks Rewards (if you belong to that program), but you can't use a Disney gift card at the DTD Starbucks. Only the 2 in-park Starbucks take Disney gift cards!

To add on to Sherry's post, you can earn rewards at the inside the parks Starbucks locations; you just can't redeem them there.

You can use Ghirardelli gift cards but not Disney gift cards at the Ghirardelli location inside DCA.

I'm glad Sherry confirmed the DTD stuff! I picked up some discounted Landrys and Build a bear GCs on Raise.com :)

It can get tricky remembering which cards are accepted in and out of the parks, and at which stores in Downtown Disney, but fortunately DTD is a hotbed of businesses that accept gift cards of some sort.

And, in the actual parks, you can even use the Disney gift card for things like pineapple spears at the fruit carts! I have happily handed over a Disney gift card to buy some spears!

Apparently Disney Gift Card's website is now allowing people to transfer their gift card balances between cards -- so they can keep just one card. They did not previously offer that, so it will come in handy when you have a pesky $5.62 balance or something, and want to add it to a $25 gift card.

You can use Disney Gift cards in any of the Disney-owned shops in DTD. So in addition to the four mentioned previously, you can also use it at Vault 28 and Disney's Pin Traders. I haven't tried it at Wonderland Gallery, but that might be another location (I've used a Disney Gift card at WoD, Marceline's, D Street, and Disney's Pin Traders in the past). They're also good at the hotel gift shops.

Ralph Brennan's also has their own gift cards/certificates that can be used at the Jazz Kitchen.

Within the parks, I've found that most any place that accepts credit cards also accepts Disney gift cards. The most notable exceptions are balloon sellers and penny press machines (both are cash only).

There is a Jamba Juice that takes their cards, along with a Starbucks. Like Sherrie said, the Patina Group has gift cards you can order from their website. They do charge $4.00 for delivery, however. During the holiday season, the Patina group offers a $15, or $20 gift card for ordering $100 or more worth of cards.

I totally forgot about Vault 28 being in Downtown Disney -- for some reason, I was thinking of every other location but that one (and I just recently posted a photo on this forum of the hidden Mickey that can be found at Vault 28, so there is no excuse for my overlooking it when mentioning the places that accept Disney gift cards in DTD! :lmao:).

I thought of WonderGround Gallery, but didn't mention it because I really was not sure what the gift card status would be. It seems to me that I read somewhere that the gift cards were accepted, and then not long after read that they weren't. I have not personally tried it, so I have no clue which report is correct.

The Disney gift cards are not only good at the hotel gift shops, but at all the hotel restaurants. In fact, I believe you can even use Disney gift cards at Napa Rose.

I was actually not sure about gift cards for The Patina Group's restaurants -- I didn't know if they were available or not -- so I'm glad you had that info! Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Haagen Daz, etc. -- any of the chain food places or stores -- will, of course, take their own gift cards, but not Disney gift cards.
