Non Disney fireworks from DTD??

I just came back from downtown disney and there was a large fireworks display and I am trying to figure out where it was coming from. It was behind the casting building, maybe even on the other side of I4... Any ideas who or what this was from? Not sure where to post.

It seemed way to close. I sat in the parking lot and watched them. I've been to DTD 100s of time and have never seen them come from there. They were much closer, they were almost as loud as magic kingdom fireworks when watching in the park.

I think sea world is way further than 4 miles... You would not be able to see their fireworks from DTD

Seaworld is NE from DTD.. depending on the angle looking over the casting building you'd be looking east to south. You've got Marriott World Center, Gaylord Palms, and many hotels and commercial areas. Hard to say.. maybe a convention at one of the larger hotels.

That is the only logical assumption, unless there was an event going on around the area with fireworks.

Seaworld is NE from DTD.. depending on the angle looking over the casting building you'd be looking east to south. You've got Marriott World Center, Gaylord Palms, and many hotels and commercial areas. Hard to say.. maybe a convention at one of the larger hotels.

Seaworld is directly north/northeast from wdw...and it is EXACTLY 4 miles from the eastern edge (which happens to be DTD) to the corner of sea world drive and central Florida parkway...exactly.

Even if I hadn't live and worked in LBV and currently own/rent a house just off of central Florida parkway 1.5 miles from sea world...GPS confirms this.

My point is...well...the truth.

There is a pretty open field of view from downtown Disney (funny thing about Florida is that it's completely flat)... So if there was something to the east of I-4 and even slightly left of center if your looking at the sun trust/ casting bldg...it would be a good bet it's Seaworld.

I don't know for sure...but you know...not a bad bet.

It was way closer...1 mile I'm guessing. It was further to the right, not towards sea world. I'm thinking a hotel closer to disney, have just never seen fireworks that close to dtd

If it was to the south/east... There would be three options:

1. Opry/Gaylord
2. Olde Towne
3. The Town of Celebration(unlikely)

All close and next to each other

No fireworks here in Celebration last night...only heard Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
