Non-Dining "stuff" that needs to be reserved prior to arrival?

This is really helpful, thank you for asking! Is the animation a different one each day? Because one of my daughters is going to want to do that daily!
For the four days that we are at Aulani, there is only one animation activity. It's also at 8:30pm which will feel pretty late for us. It was filled up when I checked, but I was at three weeks out.

As someone mentioned above the Luau sells out in advance. If it’s already sold out for your dates, you could call and see if they’ve had any additional openings. They were sold out of the preferred seating for my dates in August, and I was able to book it by calling.

If I want a cassabella on the beach , it says it’s 80$ same day rental.
Makiki Joe’s Opens at 8 am. How early do I need to line up to get a beach one?

I was there over a pretty busy period last Thanksgiving and they rarely sold out (if at all)— we thought we would want them every day but never used them because they are like 5 rows back from the water and the view is 90-100% back of chairs depending on the casabella. I don’t know if they’ve become more popular since then.

Thanks.
If I just wanna grab 2 chairs on the beach then how early should I go down to grab em while ky wife gets the kid ready? By 7 am?

You’re talking to the “sleeps in” half of our family equation. Hopefully someone else can give you more recent information but based on our trip if you aren’t trying to be the very first row on the beach you probably are fine at 7 and could even wait later.

How the heck do you find the schedule for ukulele lessons? I've tried looking on the website and it says to check the app. I look at the app and they don't even have a search function there. So frustrating!

The times we've been there (and its been a couple years) showing up at 8 got us our choice of cassabellas.

Personally, I love them. They are like a little cocoon on the beach facing the water where I can escape from the crowds and sun. My happy place. Plenty of beach chairs available most of the time IME.

They show up for me on the app when I click on the daily activities.

Just back from Aulani and this is what I booked in advance:
-Aunty's free sessions ("themed experience")
-Ukelele lessons
-Family Fun Animation
-"Thingamabobs" a family experience on the beach (W and Sun AM right now)
-Aunty's premium experiences (Moana + "Celebrate summer"--birthday gifts)
-Wikiwiki braids at Painted Sky
-Character breakfast at Makahiki

While there we also made light up ears

They seem to leave available space for all of these things for day of--you can show up at the character breakfast at 7 and you should get in. I liked knowing I would be able to do the things, but it seems the flip side is show up early enough and you can still sign up--it took a couple days of trying to be able to do ears, mostly because the time they offered us kept conflicting with something else we had scheduled. They offered us something every day. I sprained my ankle and we ended up changing some of our plans and staying at the resort more and my kids were able to get into Aunty's each of those days day of. Hope that helps someone!

Did you end up doing the animation (or anything else) multiple times? How far in advance did you book everything? Right at 30 days?
