Hi all-

I'm looking for suggestions of some great non-chocolate dessert options both for after dinners and as snacks at the parks- any suggestions? Don't get me wrong- I think chocolate is one of the few truly magic substances that exists on this earth. But I recently had radiation treatment in my head/neck region, and my tastebuds seemed to have changed considerably. They may go back to normal, but in the meanwhile, chocolate tastes terrible. One of my all-time favorites is the chocolate Micky bar in the parks, and it is just down-right depressing to think that I wouldn't want one during my next trip. Help cheer me up- what are some good alternatives?

Dole whips at MK

Epcot has lots of places that sell pastries--e.g. Norway, France, though our favorites are baklavas from Morocco.

Candied apples--MK, MGM, Epcot(Germany), Boardwalk.

Apples pies at LTT (deep dish) and '50 Prime Time Cafe (very unusual but really good)

Bowtie Twist Donut at Boardwalk Bakery--if you are a fan of yeast donuts, you should try it. We stayed at BWI and had many opportunities to eat there, and I thought the donut was the best thing.

Okay, now I have to go find something sweet.

Love desserts! Main Street bakery has excellent Carrot Cake. The french pastry shop's Peach Tarts are a "must do" for me.

You have to try a Pineapple Float from Aloha Isle at the MK (in adventureland). It's a yummy treat- fresh pineapple juice w/pineapple soft serve ice cream on top.

AK: Tusker House carrot cake & sugar cookies

MK: sugar pretzels at cart near Dumbo & pineapple floats at Aloha Isle

Epcot: frosted pretzels in Norway, elephant ears in France, beavertails in Canada

Love the key-lime tart at Boardwalk Bakery.

I'm sure I've forgetten some, but these are among our favorite non-chocolate desserts!

They have wonderful crepes on the Boardwalk. There is a cart that opens in the evenings where they make them to order.

My DD loves the strawberry fruit bars the ice cream carts sell.

The cinnamon rolls at the Magic Kingdom Bakery are very good. They also have little bowls of melon that taste great on a hot day.

In Epcot at the Japan pavillion, there are the yummy yaki tori (sp) shaved ice treats.

There are so many non chocolate desserts. Some of my favorites are:

Rice Creme in Norway
Beaver Tails in Canada
Loads of Pastries in France
Strawberry Frozen Fruit Bars-every park
Shaved Ice in Japan

Creme Brulee at Wolfgang
Berry Cobbler at Artist Point

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I guess there are tons of options I've not tried because I've typically gravitated toward chocolate before.
