Non Alcoholic Beverages

Quick question in regards to the beverages

When on the dining plan and you're allowed for dinner/lunch 1 entree, 1 dessert and 1 non-alcoholic beverage ... is the non-alcoholic beverage only pop/soda, juice or milk? Or can it be any non-alcoholic beverage on the menu that doesn't come in a special collectors cup?

For example if there are virgin cocktails on the menu, is that applicable?

I had a virgin strawberry daquiri type drink at LeCellier on the dining plan. Also had a shake as my drink at Sci Fi. I know there are a few other restaurants but these are 2 that we took advantage of.

Depends on the restaurant.

Most places you will find choices available outside the basic drinks. Some will even allow smoothies or milkshakes.

Via Napoli in particular will not allow DDP to be used for any specialty beverages, alcoholic or not.

Drinks in souvenir cups or with glow novelties are not included.

Fountain drinks such as soda, coffee, tea, lemonade are included. Any other non-alc beverages are at the discretion of the restaurant. The Disney owned restaurants are often more liberal in their choices. We've had milk shakes, smoothies (no refills), pressed pot coffee and virgin cocktails at various locations. The best thing to do is ask if there is something you want outside of the usual drinks.

Non-Disney owned places tend to be much more strict in their offerings. Among the drinks we've seen that weren't included were bottles of sparkling water, Evian, and specialty sodas (e.g. Acqua Fresca at VN).
