My DH and I are taking my MIL with us on our next vacation. She has been sober for 15 years but does enjoy a having a NA on occasion. This will be her first trip to Disney and I am sure she would love a nice cold NA, since we will be there in August. My question is does Disney have NA's and where would we find them? I am assuming somewhere in Epcot but I want to plan in advance so she knows.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Yes.... there is mostly O'Douls in the World.... England has a nice Non-alchoholic beer that is NOT O'douls! Yippppee!! :) Just ask and most places can accomodate you!

Thanks! It's so sad I have been numerous times but never noticed NA on the menu. We usually start WS on the England side so I will let her know they have a good one there.

Any other places that have something other than O'douls?

From an AA website:
"Non alcoholic beers contain about .05% alcohol, compared to a light beer at about 4.5%, or a regular beer at just over 5.0%. You would have to consume an unthinkable quantity of it to become intoxicated, however the minute amount of alcohol you do ingest from it can lead to an urge to have more, or harder drinks for those who cannot have just one. Call it a stepping stone, or what have you. Unless you really love the taste of beer (most people don't!), I see no reason to drink it. "

:rolleyes2

Actually O'doul's tastes a lot better than Bud, Bud Light etc. - was nowhere as bad as I thought it would be for an AB product.

I wouldn't roll your eyes. My father is an alcoholic and has been sober for years and years now. All of the people I have met in AA wouldn't even drink things like ODouls. Best to stick with a coke or something else...

Of course I will roll my eyes!!! For goodness sake, she asked about where to find non-alcholic beers, not a lesson on sobriety!!!!! Seriously, is no thread safe from judgement???

(And not that it is anyones business, but both my father and brother are in AA and don't drink ODouls and been have sober for 10 years...my BIL has been sober for 20 years and drinks non-alcholic beers. So whatever.........)

I wouldn't roll your eyes.

1) Rolling eyes are no problem.
2) After all, we all offer opinions and some think they are not on-topic.
3) It is perfectly fine.
4) Better than the icons with big teethy smiles.
5) Besides . . . Rolling Eyes Gather No Floss.

Thank you for your warning. However some people really do like the taste of beer my MIL included, which is why she has an occasional NA. And in 15 years has never lost sight of her original goal.

So am I right in assuming you can't recommend a good NA for her? :upsidedow

They have a N/A beer in the Germany pavilion at Epcot. I can't remember what it is but I am pretty sure it is not O'Douls.

she's been sober for 15 years and enjoys drinking NAs, that is her choice, i don't get why asking for a simple recomendation means some people have to preach.

Buckler is a good NA beer. It's NA Heinken.

Clausthaller and Beck's are also both good NA beers.

I like O'Douls amber, but it's a little sharp.

Thanks for the Germany NA selection. I like beer but because of an allergy, cannot drink the stuff that has a huge alcohol content to it. I can drink the NA stuff, though. I haven't really been able to find any at Disney World so this is good news. Any other NA options out there? Not everyone who wants NA beer is an alcoholic and before this thread gets closed down, I'd like some more options. Thanks!
