What is the process like for getting a spot at the Nomad Lounge this summer? I'm guessing it gets pretty busy early or can we walk up pretty much any time and find a table?

It opens earlier than in 2019, it opened at 11 every day for our trip May 9-18. We lined up around 10:30-10:45:and were the 2nd group there. The line built pretty fast after that. The seating is spaced further apart(at least when we were there) so less tables. But we had our choice of seats and all of thr line managed to get in, outside and inside. But they were telling people after the initial rush to join the waitlist.
We wanted drinks and lite bites another day and joined the waitlist around 4:30 pm and it said a 50 minute wait but we were called back around 30 minutes later and seated right away.
if the waitlist says its full, just check again later.

it used to be pretty easy to walk up any time but the secret’s out. Either line up at 10:30 am for 11 am opening or check the waitlist through the MDE app throughout the day. If it says full keep checking back.

If you want to go when it opens head straight to the lounge, it didn't seem like they were opening the waitlist in the app right away. One day we checked in in person at 11:42 (waitlist in app not yet opened) and got the text that our table is ready at 12:12. The other day we lined up a little before opening and got seated at the bar right away.

In April, we were able to walk up.
You can also add yourself to the waitlist in MDE. This also worked well. They will notify you when a table is available.

How did it work walking up during the day? Do they have availability right then or did they take your name to call later?

Last week I tried to get in the virtual queue twice at 11 am. Both times it was immediately full at opening and I couldn't join the waitlist. I kept refreshing the app and was able to get on the waitlist around 12:30. Both times I had an hour to an hour and a half wait. It certainly isn't the secret spot it used to be. But I will wait all days for those yucca fries and cocktails!

I had the same experience, but I don't think they ever actually opened the waitlist on the app at 11. We walked up to the restaurant at 11:40 and got on the list that way, no problem. We were in 30 minutes later.

I couldn't get the online waitlist to work for me. Old phone and it just doesn't jive with all of the features in the app. But I was able to walk up last month and they put me on the waitlist for about an hour later for 5 people.

We walked up at 4 pm and had to wait about 2 minutes for them to clear a table. I've read other reports of much longer waits, so I think we got lucky.
Its not the hidden gem any more.
Thanks for the info. Did you check the waitlist before checking in person? Just wondering if there's better success going there vs. joining the waitlist.
