When coming from the west you can take the 310 exit to the westbank of Mississippi river and Segnette park. Directions:
The 310 exit is marked from I10 to Raceland, Boutte, Houma.
You will be crossing the river and when you get to the end it will be Highway 90.
Go to your left which will take you through Boutte and Luling.
Stay on Hway 90 east, go through Avondale.
Look for the Lapalco Blvd. exit to your right off of Hway 90.
You will make a right on Lapalco and keep going (past TPC golf).
Look for Segnette Blvd.
Take a left.
Go to the Westbank Expressway and make a right.
And to your right is the entrance to Segnette Park (about a block down WB Expressway).
As far as a ferry. Why not take the Cresent City Connection Bridge to french quarter?
It only takes about 30 mins. from where you will be staying to get there.
Bridge toll is a dollar.
Get on WB Expressway go to your right through Westwego, Marrero, Gretna.
(It is elevated)
Go to toll booth and pay, cross over bridge and stay in right lane.
Get off at Camp St. exit and stay on this to Canal Blvd.
On the other side of Canal is the french quarter! Yahoo!!!
