Last year, I stayed at the PPH with my family and we have a great stay. The only thing that I did not enjoy about my stay was that I was able to hear the couple in the next room in the middle of the night (maybe you can imagine what I heard). I was in the daybed sofa sleeper so I was right next to the wall. I don't know if my other family members heard the neighbors, I didn't want to bring it up. I was actually worried the little ones would hear but luckily they didn't wake up.

I want to stay onsite again but would like a peaceful sleep. Can you hear your neighbors at DLH or GCH?

I've not stayed at GCH & I haven't stayed at DLH in years, but middle-of-the-night-gasping-and-moaning is why I always bring earplugs when I stay in any hotel. I'm glad the kids didn't hear; I'd not want to have to explain *that* one!

Wow! Guess Disneyland really brings the Mickey out in ya. Anyways.

I have never had any issues hearing neighbors at DLH. Only when people let their hotel door slam that we heard it, only slightly though. We didn't hear talking or TVs the whole visit and we know there were people on their side of us and across the hallway.

Sorry to hear that woke you up. Thankfully, I haven't had that experience. I tend to just hear people out in the hallways coming back to their rooms late.

We did have an experience at DLH last year. People in adjoining room kept opening their adjoining door and knocking on ours loudly. They would also grab the front door handle as they walked by our room and wiggle it. We finally went to the front desk, they didn't have another room, so we left early.

Some are certainly rude.

I don't think any hotels are 100% sound-proof. Anytime people are living that close to each other, you're bound to hear something. My kids have never lived in an apartment or condo and I always explain to them that we have to share walls, walkways, etc. in hotels and we need to be quiet. Some really low-quality hotels might be noiser than others, but I think it has to do more with who is staying there and how much respect they have for their neighbors. I remember being really obnoxious in a motel on a high school band trip. No one should have had to deal with our group on their vacation! I've never had any real problems with hotels in the Disneyland area. I think the occasional people talking outside, kids running by, etc. is to be expected in a hotel full of families.

Hopefully the OP's experience at Paradise Pier was an isolated thing and was compounded by sleeping right next to the wall. I wouldn't worry too much about having the same problem again.

I think that can happen in any hotel. We were at GCH in April and the family next to us was very loud. Just typical family noise though..."Jose, you are taking too long in the shower", "please hurry, we need to get breakfast", etc.

I usually bring a tynenol pm. Does the trick! :thumbsup2

Yup, you can hear people in the room next to you in DLH too! Thankfully, it was just a bunch of men watching football games during the day so at night it was quiet. The downside was because the tv volume was soo high in combination with the usual loud sports commentary coming from the neighbors, my small kids weren't able to take naps. What were they doing watching tv while at DL anyway? Isn't that a sin? :lmao:
