Noise has been much worse in OKW studios since they removed the living room carpeting from the adjoining 1 bedroom units. There are no soft goods to absorb the sounds, and it is now echo-y. The sounds really bounces off those laminate floors.
OK, this post is very off topic...but not entirely...
Has anyone looked at the online tour of Vero Beach on the
DVC site?
WOW - to say that Old Key West got the short end of the stick in the refurb cycle would really be an understatement!
WOW - again, the Vero Beach rooms are absolutely beautiful!
They put down super cheap vinyl plank flooring at Old Key West (we stayed there last year, and there were already a few planks peeling up) Yet Vero Beach bot a BEAUTIFUL multi-color plush looking carpet?!
Don't get me wrong, I like to LOOK of the flooring - but at the quoted post above said, they REALLY didn't think about what a hard surface floor would do to make things echo and multiply noise when they made a decision on flooring. I thought... when I read about the refurb that they were installing hardwood flooring - but the next time we stayed there.... it only took one look to realize that it was poorly installed vinyl plank flooring, not hardwood.
Yet...take a look at Vero Beach - the redesign/restyle/refresh was far more of an update than the changes that took place at Old Key West. Vero Beach is a newer resort, and yet received a FAR better makeover?
Just google Disney's Vero Beach Resort, click the first link (Disney's Beach Resorts Site) and then click on accommodations - pay close attention to the carpet and the lamps.
Poor OKW - just doesn't hold up to Vero Beach!
