We will be taking our first disney cruise in Nov 2018 we have 2 rooms on deck 10 and I was wondering about the noise from deck 11. We will have one toddler and one 11yr with us for sleeping. I read that these rooms may hear noise from deck 11 so wondering if we should maybe see about changing to another deck.

I have learned the hard way to never have a room above or below a public space and to stay as far away from the elevators as possible. On one cruise we were above the karaoke lounge and the noise didn’t stop until after midnight.

Do you know if they will let us change our rooms now I see they have 2 rooms in about the same area on deck 5 cat 04e

If you can Grammyx2 I would change my stateroom. I too never book a stateroom above or below a public space. I also don't like being near the laundry room and as long as I'm five to six staterooms down from the elevators/stairs I'm fine.

Thank you for responding. I have contacted our agent to see if we can change rooms. Hopefully we can.

Oh the laundry room area looks like it would be terrible. People always seem to congregate there bright and early. :sad2:

We stayed in a room on deck 10 once.............once!

We had a little one that took naps and it was noisy during the day with chairs sliding around and running. Also, we found it to be warmer in our room we think due to the sun beating down on the deck above.

We prefer to have one deck of rooms above us, so we choose Deck 7 on the Classic ships and Deck 9 on the newer ones. It's not so hard to get up to the pool deck but we have a buffer between us and the noise of that deck.

All well and good, I'll just relay my experience. B2B cruises - first leg deck 10 room, second cruise deck 9 room.

On deck 10 we were located underneath the entry area to Cabanas on the starboard side. Really not much noise to speak of. Daytime, could hear kid's (people) walking/running occasionally, and Pirate night we could hear the bass on the music being played for the party on deck.

On deck 9 we were located more midship on the port side. The noise in that room was quite intense. Issues - on one side of us we had two connecting rooms with kids (I hope it was kids) who liked to take laps through the open verandah door and interior connecting door, accompanied with the shrieks that kids do when racing each other. Other side of us 3 connecting rooms with someone who really liked jumping off the bunk bed (a lot). All that added to the group of people on deck 10 who felt the only way to get from one end of the passageway to the other was to run foot races (day or night).

You just can't tell.

Yeah, I'm one of those early morning/late night users myself which is why I prefer to stay away from the laundry rooms.
