Noise factor at Pop Century?

Had a room in the 50's building. We were very happy with it!! We had neighbors on both sides of us and it was fine. We will be staying the night there tomorrow!!

Has anyone ever requested a room near the parking lot? My 86 year old Grandfather will be with us and I want to limit his walking. ( We will have a car!)
Is there a building that would be quiet but close to parking? Thanks.

I did (ask for a room close to the parking lot) when I arrived on January 19 after midnight and was given room 2236 in the 50's building (the one with the juke box on it facing the pool). It was terrific - one flight of stairs and boom, there we were in the parking lot. The one building of the 50's and one or two in the 90's/80's are close the the parking lot. Just request it. NONE of the 60's rooms are close to a parking lot, so even though it is "preferred" stay away from it if you are not using the buses.

Check out my review post on my stay at POP for more info on the sound!

We stayed at Pop last May and won't stay there again due to noise, and nothing else. Walls were paperthin, heard not only the alarm clock next door at 6am, but also every word the family were speaking - and they weren't being loud or rude. Just normal conversations. Every toilet flush was heard, showers on in the morning, etc.

We were in the 50's building, looking over the bowling pool, and screams of people in teh pool past midnight were heard - not to mention all the families running and screaming outside the doors all hours of the day. Nobody trying to be rude, it's just a cheap cheap structure. Very well themed, but cheap construction.

Good luck in your decision =)

We stayed at POP for a few nights in Oct - we had no problem with noise level in our room.

But - WOW- can't say the same for the food court.

Very noisy, but we enjoyed POP so much in general that the noise would not stop us from staying there again. Next time we will bring a white noise machine (seemed to help during our recent stay at AllStar Movies) and will request a room at the end of a corridor (we were near the elevators and stairs, just a few rooms down).

Most of the noise was not from neighbors talking, flushing the toilet, etc. but from kids running up and down the corridors and yelling. Even though we were on the top floor, the way the sound reverberates at POP made it seem like kids were running on the floor above (of course there was no floor above!)

As others have mentioned, we are used to living in a very quiet place (house on an acre, and we have no children) so noise probably bothers us more than it would someone who lives in an apartment. However, we did not find AllStar Movies to be very noisy at all, and the Dolphin is absolutely silent--have never heard a thing there! We were also just at a Days Inn near DTD Friday night, and that was also very quiet.

We stayed at POP this past November and found it quite a bit noisier than the other values. We won't go back. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We've stayed at Pop Century twice now - and we love it!!!

We were there for 4th of July last summer, 60s bldg overlooking the kiddy pool. We never heard a thing!!!

This past Dec, we were in the 50s bldg, saw the fireworks from our door!!! It was great - and again, we never heard our neighbors!

We're planning a trip again this summer, and I'll definitely be checking out Pop Century again!!!!

I was there for a week and didn't hear any noise at all. Well, we heard the toilet flush once the entire time, but that's it. Maybe I just had quiet neighbors.
