Are the rooms set aside for preferred views much noiser than the standard view rooms? I'm not sure which type to reserve. I would love to have a room overlooking the Boardwalk but I don't want to be kept up all night with the noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are at 4 different preferred views--boardwalk, Luna (main) pool, "quiet" pool, and lagoon (leading to MGM. Those in the quiet pool area are actually the quietest on site as few people actually use that area. Lagoon views are also quiet except for the occassional boat horn. The Luna pool area is usually quiet at night. The rooms on the boardwalk and at the Luna pool generally remain quiet when the balcony doors are closed. The loudest the BW gets is when they have a DJ outside at night (a couple days a week) and even then it depends on where the room is. Different people have different tolerances, for example we find the boardwalk rooms to be quite quiet when the doors are closed; others have mentioned that there was noise. Nevertheless, if you basically want to avoid noise altogether choose the quiet pool area

We stayed in preferred views at the BWV last June. We had a view of Luna Park and then moved to a Boardwalk view. Noise was not a problem in either room - when the balcony doors were closed we couldn't hear anything.

We could see "Fantasmic" lights and the "Tower of Terror" from our first room and when we moved to the Boardwalk view, we sat on our balcony and watched the fireworks at Epcot every nite! We went to sleep looking out our bedroom window at "
Spaceship Earth". Can't wait to go back!!!!

So far, we've only had units overlooking Luna Park pool. The only problems with noise have come from people out in the hallway who don't use 'indoor' voices (particularly in the morning) - NOTHING from the pool.

I might be too sensitive, but have stayed boardwalk view two years, and was disturbed by the noise. I love to look out at the boats and the fireworks, but the locals go to the bw bars on the weekends, and forget that there are guests sleeping above them. Though this bar traffic lasts only a short time as they leave the bar after closing, it is quite disturbing when you are sound asleep. As I mentioned, I love to see the boats coming and going. Here's the part I didn't like after a while: the boat horns blaring morning and night as they pick up and drop off passengers. The Dance Hall music is loud at times, and on weekend nights, there is a dj outside of the Dance Hall until maybe 11 or 12. The carnival games have loud buzzers and bells that go off continuously. Sorry to sound so negative, but all the noise really bothered me after a while. I will stay here again, but will request the canal view or pool view. Like I said, I may be sensitive to the noise, but just another point of view.

Both times we've stayed at BWV, we have had preferred rooms with a view of the Luna Pool. Neither of those times has the noise even been remotely an issue, and believe me, my hubby would have made a comment about it - he likes peace and quiet at night.

I wonder if the noise level might be higher on the lagoon side with all the activity...

Maybe we are sound sleepers but we had a BW view and didn't hear much at all with the doors closed.
