NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Wow, you are in the final countdown now. I he all medical issue remain silent so you can enjoy your much needed and deserved vacation. The kids must be super excited. Have a safe and magical trip.

PIPER!!!!! It is so good to see you, I have missed you! How are you feeling? I admit, I do get concerned when we don't hear from you for a while. Praying all is well and Thank You for your kind words. We love you too!

No tips on driving that far with little ones, other than take lots of things to keep them busy and many rests/breaks along the way! Make an adventure of it!

I have not been feeling well so I could use an extra dose of prayers, but mostly for the girls...nothing horrible, just the same "stuff".

Prayers for all who are reading and lurking. :goodvibes

Judy, I have been okay. Fighting an unexplained blood pressure issue. The doctor changed my BP med. She made me feel good because she said she wished I could do patient education for her. She said she could tell I followed all her directions because of my test results--A1C 6.3, cholesterol perfect, sodium on the low side, etc.

Of course, I follow them. Having lupus makes my body do weird things, why wouldn't I try to control the little I can!?! I spend so much on 12 prescriptions each month, it would be foolish not to do what I can to make them work properly!

I have major RA in shoulders, hips, knees and my back. But I am getting through each day in spite of waking up 4 or 5 times a night from "discomfort" (as the doctors say!) It could be so much worse. Although I can't stand for long at a time, I can still stand and move around a little with my crutch. One of the residents here is going blind and having a really hard time adjusting. It appears that she is going to have to move from here (it is "independent" living) to an assisted living facility.

I have been noticing a few more neurofibromas lately, but fortunately it is nothing but outward appearance (and they are small.) Plus, I am really blessed that most of the neurofibromas are in areas that don't show when I am dressed. So many people with NFI have to put up with lots of stares. The kids I taught used to ask about the ones on my hands, so I was just honest with them and they accepted it!

I only get out once a week to get groceries. I do have a prayer request--it seems so nitpicky compared with some people. But it really causes difficulty for me. When my sister or BIL go grocery shopping, they take me with them. Then they just unload the groceries in the driveway and leave me to get them upstairs to my apartment. It is really difficult to get them to the elevator, upstairs, and to my apartment. I really appreciate their taking me with them when they go, but would appreciate their help getting things upstairs.

I don't like to complain. When I have asked for help, they tell me they want to get home and just drive off and leave me. The only time my sister has been in my apartment since I moved in was when she brought over 4 outfits for me to alter for her. I almost erased this because it isn't major, but I know that God is in charge of the small things as well as the big ones.

I continue to pray for all of you daily. I try to lift up the good things that happen in your lives as well as the challenges. You all have my love.

Oh Piper, (((HUGS))). Don't ever feel you are sharing something "small"! It is important to you and I know it would make a big difference if they could help out with your groceries, etc., so of course we will pray about that. That's what I love about this group, everyone is so willing to pray for one another and rejoice in the answered prayers! By any chance, do any grocery stores around you offer delivery? Our Kroger and Safeway just started offering it, and they bring it right to your door for a $10 fee. Maybe that would be an option for you sometimes?

So glad to hear JJ has had 3 good days now! What a wonderful answer to prayer! Judy, we'll be praying for your friend's child, and for your two girls, too. I'm also praying for you to feel much better soon, as well. We'll be praying that everyone feels well for your trip and that you all have a marvelous time together! Coming up soon, now!

We heard back from Ezra's doctor late the same afternoon of his CT scan. I was shocked because everyone said it would be next week at the earliest unless it was bad news...I admit I panicked a bit when I came home to a message to call him back regarding the results. BUT, everything looked normal! I am so grateful for that. I can't remember if I told you that he was diagnosed with benign hydrocephalus before his birth, so of course that was also at the back of my mind as to whether it was causing a problem, but they said everything looked great. The doctor thinks the headaches are leftover from that nasty bug he had a couple of weeks ago and said let's watch him for a few more weeks and if they keep up, he'll send us over to a neurologist for further evaluation.

The flooding here in CO is horrible. I have never seen anything like it around here. You'd think in the mountains it wouldn't be an issue, but whole towns are under water right now. My niece and her husband have had quite a bit of water damage in their basement (these are the same ones who evacuated for the fires a couple of months ago). Some people just can't catch a break, it seems. Fortunately, we have only had a little bit of leaking into the garage. Our house is built near the top of a hill, so most of the water is all heading down to our neighbors (lucky them). We are supposed to get a lot more rain today, but it is supposed to dry out next week.

Thinking of you and praying for you all.

Judy please post great things or tough things here. We are all here for you and your family good or bad:love:

I am so sorry to hear your dad's chemo had to be delayed and he is having some issues. Yes they need not to forget who they are dealing with:thumbsup2

My mom is doing ok. She has her days. She is still on the first treatment drug but they may be changing it soon as her numbers are beginning to show signs of change. We are praying it's not the case. She has been having some pain. It hurts to see her like that. But last night she was able to go see Sierra at her first ever Marching Band competition! I was so happy she was able to go. There is no way she could ever sit through a football game so this really made our night.

I am trying to come up with a pretrip heading. I am very uncreative. Any help would be greatly appreciated! We are going to see Sierra march at Magic Kingdom next year. If anyone has any ideas they would like to toss at me please feel free to pm me:)

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who are dealing with the floods. That is so awful. I hope things begin to calm down a bit soon for you all. Prayers for healing and guidance through clean up and the days to come. Hugs to all.

I have been reading but just haven't really been able to comment due to spending a lot of time at the hospital with my dad. Thankfully he got out of ICU yesterday and they are going to try and wean him off of the O2 today. Hopefully he will be home soon.

I hope that everyone is feeling good for your trip next week and that the relaxing will help everyone to feel better. Have a safe and fun trip

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

Marilyn

Judy, I can't believe your trip is coming so soon!!!! I really hope all your "not quite rights" settle out and your trip is fabulous!!!!

The deployment jinx recently came out of hiding so life has been interesting. Nothing major. Family sep pay still not showing up yet even though they started taking BAS right away, a key broke in the ignition as I tried to turn the air on while buckling K in at a parking lot -- THAT was interesting! And just a bit more drama than usual in my life, some from unexpected avenues. I let it get to me more than I should.

Thinking of you always!!! Have a marvelous birthday trip!!!
Oh Jennie, I am so sorry for al you have had to endure, it is so much harder with Bill gone I know...I have some stories :crazy2:...You need some DRAMA FREE time! You have a right to have it get to you, just keep swimming though!! :grouphug::grouphug:

Thank you for the good trip and BD wishes...Looking forward to a change of scenery!
Praying for healing for all the big and little stuff. I can't believe it is almost time for your trip. I will pray everybody stays well for your well deserved trip. I know you are all excited. I am excited for you. We are leaving in 25 days to Disney for a long weekend mini trip. I wish we could be there at the same time. I would love to meet you and your sweet family in person.
Thank you for your prayers. :goodvibes I am so excited you get to go to Disney in 25 days! (I wish I had 25 more days to plan :lmao:). I would have LOVED ot meet you, maybe one day we can work that out! :thumbsup2 Is it a long drive for you?

JJ has had 3 really good days!
YEA for good days and fun! I am sorry I wasn't home this morning when you called, I was at Sunday School. YES to your question, that was already answered. :goodvibes:flower3:

Prayers for all that are in need.
We WILL meet! You aren't THAT far from me!I really wish you would be there when we are, that would have been so cool. Of course, I am still working out details, details ad details...I wish WE were flying then I look at all of the "stuff" and thin how fortunate I am that we aren't :lmao:

I have David, Rachel and Lisa all packed...:yay: THIS is the way I like to roll!

Hooray for another movie night.

I can't believe your trip is coming so quick. It will do all of you some good to get away...I'm sure of it. :goodvibes

Thank you so much Judy! The children are ALL:goodvibes very happy, it has been a long and short wait...they would go today if we could...me? I would take another month, lol. I appreciate your good wishes.

Piper, NO request or praise is ever too small, which I know you already know! :goodvibes I actually think getting help with your groceries ad your need to help get them to your home is HUGE! My their hearts be softened and give you assistance the next time they take you to the store! Thank you for being so willing to share of yourself with us here.:hug:

SO thankful the CT was normal and you can move fore=ward with whatever else needs to be done for Ezra to feel better and have good days at school! The flooding has sickened me, so many are hurting and in harms way. I am thankful you are safe. I see it on the news and think of you each and every time. Prayers for all of your needs continue!

How about Marching To See Mickey???

I am continuing to keep your Mom and all of your family's needs in prayer.:hug: I pray there is NOT any changes/worsening, I really understand. I know it meant a lot to hear AND sierra to have her there. :goodvibes

Thank you. :goodvibes I REALLY feel we have a great group of folks here who read and post because they care. I have not had any negativity from anyone this summer and it has been a HUGE blessing!

Thanks for being here when you can Marilyn. I have been praying for your Dad and I am so thankful he is out of ICU. I hope the baby steps continue.
I appreciate the good wishes. :goodvibes
Hooray for another movie night.

I can't believe your trip is coming so quick. It will do all of you some good to get away...I'm sure of it. :goodvibes
Thank you Kathy, I agree with EVERYTHING you just wrote. :thumbsup2 You are a sweetheart!

I hope everyone here will please pray for Kathy's brother.
Forget responses, post the news! :goodvibes
Almost ready. :lmao:

The big news is about Rachel. She is playing at the House Of Blues in Orlando while we are in Florida and she is beyond excited!!! So are we. This is a video of her sharing the news at the last Open Mic Night. Pete will be accompanying her and as you can imagine we are exceptionally proud of her (This is HER gig, not his). I have known since July 25 that they wanted her to play again and before I could share the news she got the concussion (which Is STILL causing her problems). It is a blessing we had the HOB for her to look forward to though, because anytime she wanted to push herself to do more, I gently reminded her about this opportunity and it was enough to appease her. Music has been her saving grace, it is soothing/comforting to her and it is good for her soul. They are excited for her to return to HOB, this past week has been joyful as we get things together. The show is at 10:30 PM.

Thank you Gail and Lisa for keeping my secret.
Deborah, you were VERY close with your guess!
:goodvibes

That IS incredible news about Rachel, I am so happy for her! :goodvibes She looks beautiful in those pictures, I am so glad you shared, it was worth the wait. :yay:

Judy, this news just gave me the biggest smile. I so wish we could be there, but we will be in spirit.

And thank you for asking for prayers for my brother.

JUDY!!! That is amazing news! :cheer2: So happy for Rachel, and all of you! To be able to play at the HOB twice at such a young age is a huge accomplishment.

Your trip is so close and I am so excited for you!

Piper..perhaps you could get one of those pull carts we call "granny carts" and load your groceries into that and wheel it. I know how hard it is to ask for help. My daughter will do anything I ask but I hate to ask as she has her own house and family. Groceries seem to get heavier all the time and I struggle with them too.

Judy..I am so happy for Rachel...I am sure she Neill be great. Will you be able to record her performance. What an amazing opportunity.
