NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Judy, that quiche looks so good! I've never seen Hunchback either, though I know some of the music from watching youtube videos with Adison. Guess we should put that on our list of movies to watch!

Christian did a fabulous job on dinner and I am sure it was nice to have someone else do the cooking. I need to watch this movie, I haven't seen it either. Judy, you have raised wonderful children.

Hi Judy,

Yay for Christian! His movie night meal looks great and you got a break which makes it all the more special for you. Good job Christian! You need and deserve a break Judy.

I love Esmeralda! She is one of my favorite characters. They used to have an Esmeralda that walked around the Fantasyland area of Disneyland. I spent over a half hour talking to her one day in 2003. She is a great character. I like her so much our oldest was a blond version of her one year at Halloween.

I wasn't going to share any pics of myself until my TR, but after hearing about how much you loved Esmeralda and Hunchback (which is one of my absolute favorites) I had to share this picture of myself at age five:

And for reference, here's a picture of me from today (cropped because I'm unsure how my boyfriend feels about his picture being on the DIS ;))

The food looked fantastic and I am so glad you liked the movie! There used to be a stage show in Disney of Hunchback at MGM Studios and one of my strongest memories from childhood is petting the puppet of Djali the goat!

Great job Christian on your movie night dishes! Judy, I picked a great time to call you last Sunday. Since Christian was taking care of the cooking, you had a chance to relax and talk on the phone with us. Glad the family enjoyed the meal and the movie. One of my favorite movies too!
He did do a wonderful job Gail, I was proud of him. I was happy you called when you did, I was able to enjoy our talk without having to multi-task. :yay:
It really WAS a good movie, I was pleased and wondered why there wasn't any Hunchback stuff at Disney that I remember seeing.
Your move night looks great! Go Chritian!

I'm so glad Lisa is feeling better and hope everyone else is also doing well!

Your trip is getting close, how fun!!!

We just returned from a few days on Lake Michigan. I just love that side of Michigan and the beautiful, sandy beaches! It was a relaxing time and much enjoyed!

Everyone....have a great day! Ruth
RUTH! So great to see you . I pray you are well and work is going well. I am glad you were able to get away for a bit and enjoy some fun and relaxation. We just need to get Rachel's asthma under control and Lisa finishes up her antibiotic at the end of the week. I am looking forward to the trip and figuring things out for it.

Meredith it was REALLY good! Lisa sang God Help the OUtcasts the first year she took voice and it was beautiful, but I still hadn't seen it. I was really impressed and that is typically hard to do with a cartoon. I highly recommend it! Glad to see you, I hope al is well. :goodvibes

He really did a great job, it was fun. It was a great treat to have him cook...and I agree, my kiddos are super!

Wow!! Christian did a fabulous job with his Hunchback movie theme! That quiche look s delicious!! Actually all of it does. Please share with him that I compliment him on his culinary skills and creativity! :)

so glad Lisa was able to participate and enjoy as well!

Michele, I have missed you!! Praying all is well, I have been thinking of you. I really DID enjoy the break, it was a great treat.

Lisa had an Esmerelda shirt I bought in a lot of clothes off of eBay. It was actually Rachel's first, so it got a lot of wear. It was pretty, but it never was a movie I sat and watched. That is why I love movie nights, I force myself to take time and spend with the family...even if there is a ton of things I could be doing. Esmerelda is gorgeous, smart, funny and strong...loved her! How wonderful to have some time with her at DL, I really think she should be out! Thank you for posting that adorable picture, I love your blonde Esmerelda...and your baby Pooh! :goodvibes

I forgot to say I like that Christian had a Disney shirt on for his movie day. :goodvibes
Somebody in our house always has on SOMETHING Disney...I do right now!
If I could make custom clothes I would be broke from spending so much money! :lmao:

I am so happy you posted your pics! I wondered what you look like (pretty) and you were an adorable little girl! Do you still have Djali?? SO cute. I would have LOVED to see that stage show, I wish they would bring it back!

I was proud of Christian it actually tasted even better than it looked. I was pleasantly surprised by everything he made. :goodvibes

You are such a sweetheart Brenda! I will tell him what you said. He is such a great guy, someday there will be a lucky lady to enjoy his wonderful kindness and his emerging cooking skills!

I was thrilled Lisa was up to having a little fun. She has a long day of appts tomorrow and I hope they can assure me the sinus infection is indeed nearly gone, she has been tired today. I hope you have a FABULOUS week!!

Dis'er Confession: Whenever I'm in the mood for a good let-it-all-out cry, I know I can count on Lisa's reveal video. Gets me every time! :goodvibes

Judy, Christian did a fantastic job and I can imagine how nice it was having him take over like that. What a nice break for you. I'm planning on trying to get our newest plans up in the next day or so.

My prayers for your Step Dad Sandra. I hope he has a speedy recovery and i KNOW you will pick the right time to share the wonderful news about the baby!

I really don't mean to leave a cliffhanger, but i have learned I have to be careful when I share some things, it is just the way it is...but I did want you all to know I had one thing planned :woohoo:

Thank you for the prayers. We haven't heard from my MIL since this morning so we're guessing that he's doing ok right now. Tomorrow is the day I'm mainly worried about. About 15 years ago my great uncle went in for routine surgery and never woke up. He was a very healthy 72 but it was a very sad day that happened.

Leaving us in suspense also just makes sure we keep coming back!! :rotfl2: But I'd be here anyways.

We ended up not telling our family today about the baby. My BIL and SIL have been having problems ever since I've known them (going on 10 years in September). I don't know what happened today but my SIL ended up cancelling dinner tonight.

Kids were disappointed but got over it because we went to Jeremy's Kindergarten Teacher's son's birthday pool party today. The kids had a blast and enjoyed spending a lot of time in the water!! I know I had asked for prayers for Mrs. D back in April when she went out on medical leave and today I found out it wasn't anything as serious as we kept thinking it was. I also found out that she is going to be returning next year and if things work out like they should Sarah will be in her class when school starts on August 27. Both Sarah and Mrs. D are excited about that possibly happening. And we'll be getting together again in the next week or so the kids can have some fun in our pool together.

I really didn't realize how much I wanted to get away until this vacay fell into our laps!! Don't get me wrong, I ALWAYS want to get away, I just don't dwell on it if I don't think it s a possibility! And now it is!! :woohoo::yay::yay::dance3::yay::yay::woohoo:

I'm with you on always wanting to get away. But like you I know it can't always happen and when it does happen it's even more exciting!! I can't wait for your trip to get here so you can just get away for it all! I'm just as excited as you are for this trip to happen! You guys all deserve it!

You have raised them right...that could NEVER happen...right??? I NEVER want to think of a day when mine don't want to do Disney! I can't fathom it!!

Have fun today and I WILL be praying!

Of course the day of them no longer wanting to do Disney will never come. But I do know the day will come that they won't always be able to come with us so for now Disney trips trump all other trips.

Christian did a great job on his movie night!! The food looked delicious! Especially the bread! I love bread! I love the Hunchback!! Unfortunately it's one of the few Disney cartoon movies that I don't own. But I did get lucky and it was on the Disney channel a couple weeks ago and I Tivo'd it. Now we just need to find the time to watch it. I think the kids will love it!!

Christian did a great job with his movie night. The hunchback is my husband's favorite Disney movie. I hope that you get good news at the doctor for Lisa and that Rachel's asthma gets under control too. I had a lot of problems with asthma and the heat and humidity down here when I was younger but luckily I grew out of it and almost never have asthma attacks now. Glad the kids all get to keep the same doctors.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them

Meredith...that is so incredibly sweet, it made me tear up, Thank you for sharing! Every time I watch it and Lisa sees me she hands me a tissue, because she knows I will need it. Lisa still looks several ties a week to see if the count goes up on her video. It makes her happy. I can't wait to share your comment with her.

It was a great feeling to just let it go and let him do it. He told me I didn't have to help him at all...and he was correct! Looking forward t hearing more about your plans. :goodvibes

I am so sorry the in-law drama continues!:hug: It is hard when things get canceled our children were looking forward to; but, I am happy they had the pool party and you were able to find out what happened with Jeremy's teacher...I understand privacy and al; however, since it wasn't that big of a deal they could have saved you all a lot of heartache and worry had you been told. I am glad Sarah should have her as a teacher, that should help her feel more comfortable.

I had to laugh, I think as long as we are able to go to Disney, all four of ours are going to try and figure out how to tag along...and bring spouses, grandchildren, etc...I am ready, lol...we will have our own Grand Gathering. :rotfl2:

Our copy of HB is so old and well watched. I can't do it now, but when the children were younger we used to buy all of the Disney movies as soon as they came out. We have quite a few of the older ones, love it.

Have a great week and take care of yourself!

I don't know how I missed watching ANY of the HB over the years, it was a great movie! Thank you for the good wishes for the girls, we are leaving in a bit to make the rounds...we have 4 appts today, plus David has woodworking. I am glad your asthma has been better as you grew up, Rachel's began after she had a horrible bout with mono several years ago. I never knew it, but it is a trigger (rare) for some. This heat and rain is horrible for her breathing and Lisa's lungs as well. Praying you have a wonderful week and things are quiet and calm!:hug:

Prayers for the flooding all around us and up and down the East Coast please.
This is unbelievable wether everyone is experiencing. Praying for all of you to have a blessed week!!

Ah hit send too soon while trying to fix a typo! LOL Christian did a great job, all looks so yummy!

We won tickets to the world premiere of Hunchback. It was held in the Superdome. I still wear the commemorative tshirt but only to sleep in as it is pretty worn. LOL

We had Bill's going away party with my family this weekend. It turned into a larger going away theme as my cousin announced he has a new job and they are moving away. We are really going to miss them but I keep crying for Kaity, who is losing her cousins, the only ones around her age and local. To make it harder all three girls were having such a good time together! We are hoping to get a last visit in before they go.

Many prayers for all the needs. Unfortunately when I check in from my phone I can't scroll back.

If I wasn't so focused on going to Disneyland for our vacations I think we would have cruised more often. I'll also admit I was scared to bring the kids on a cruise ship. My biggest fear is they wouldn't listen and climb on the rails (which they never did!!) Plus I was waiting for the day they could enjoy the kids clubs because then we were able to have some adult time too (one of the pluses of cruising with Carnival, the kids can be 2 and not potty trained). I think one of the best times we had was when we'd leave them in the club for dinner. We'd be able to enjoy dinner with out the kids and didn't have to worry about them being too tired (we had late dining, only down fall about booking so close to cruising time you don't really get your choice of dining.)

As long as you have the freedom you do get some pretty great rates being able to book last minute. I think once the kids are older too we'll be cruising more (especially once they decide they don't want to do Disney any more).

Thank you! We are very excited especially since we've had a few problem along the way to reach this point (both before Jeremy and then again after James.)

We'll have to stay in contact and see if our paths ever cross. It'd be fun!!

I agree Disney is definitely a family favorite for vacations. If we could get a week at Disney for the same rate we get a week long cruise we would definitely pick Disneyland!!! :wizard:princess:

That's funny about the railings thing. :lmao: We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and then waited until our son was 8 for our next cruise. Mallory was born with the heart issues so we took a break from cruising because doctors told us that it was not a good idea to have her in crowds. After she had her final big surgery(fontan 2 years old), we gave her a chance to heal and then we started cruising again. I can see how it would be a bit tough with little kids on a cruise. Your late night dinning with your husband sounds wonderful!!! I miss the chocolate melting cake. I saw a tagline on a cruising blog that said I still cruise for chocolate melting cake (that is totally me :rotfl:)!! What I love about cruising is the all inclusive nature of it, including activities for the kids and adults, and of course the price!!! :rotfl2:

How do you find out about the ships that aren't full and have last minute deals available?

Yes, let's keep in touch and who knows we might run into you at Disneyland or on Carnival, either would be awesome!! :yay:

Oh and I love your little baby ticker. Too cute that the baby is practicing facial expressions this week!! Adorable!! :goodvibes

Have a great day!!!

Madeline

It isn't always easy to be positive but I confess this past month has been like I was back to my normal self. All the negativity has left my life and it is such a freeing feeling! I thank you for your kind words, I am happy you can see God working in our lives.

What a blessing to have doctors you can fully trust and believe to have the best interest of your child at the forefront of their thoughts. I am so sorry that she needs shots, but I have seen them work wonders for others and I pray they will do the same for our sweet little Mallory. Have you seen this?

BUZZY

They are on back order until September but you can find them on Amazon and they do have a few in stock. We haven't used it yet, but I thin it is worth a try to block the pain of the needles. The doctor who developed it, Amy, is extremely personable and personally answers your questions if you email.

I am nover short of amazed by the kindness and generosity of folks...there ARE far more good people than bad in the world.

The insurance is a necessary evil. Sadly they just have you. The new changes are worse than anything we have seen in this county in a very long time.

The pizza in Lisa's lap WAS coincidental..that child loves meat more than anyone I know (she loves pizza to though)! She would eat a big pile of meat and nothing else if I would let her...that and carrots make her happy...but we always have carrots. :lmao: For Christmas, Santa brought her three Turkey legs, and left them in our freezer wrapped up. She was BEYOND thrilled! IF we get to Disney maybe she will have another Turkey leg. :lmao:

Not quite the right time to share our last few hours yet...soon thought, the trip is rapidly approaching!

Time for School of Rock...

Thanks for the Buzzy idea. I can't believe how easy it appears to make blood draws. What a great idea!!! Thanks for looking into that for us!! :thumbsup2

The meat thing is so cute!! I love the pictures of your family!! The Hunchback movie night dinner looked great!! And sounds like you had a great night off on that one!! Perfect!! Disneyland also had a Hunchback show when when Michael was little. It was AWESOME!! The show was done in a round theater stage at an outdoor venue near Small World. The action took place all around you! I think it was one of my favorite stage shows of all time. Totally miss it!!

Okay I guess it makes sense not share the last hours of your trip and hey I look at it this way... You are helping me to develop patience!!! :rotfl2:

Happy Monday!!

Madeline

I try to put my ramblings in a separate post (sometimes I write stuff in the individual responses, sorry about that) for those who only have time to skim, and while I don't have a lot to say (I know Lisa is laughing :rotfl2:), here it is...

I started this PTR a month ago and we have less than two to go to Disney....it all still seems so surreal! I am still up in the air for all of the plans, the children have given me a dream list of where they would go if everything was free...most of it isn't happening but we shall see.

Want to hear the funny part...the only thing I know for SURE is happening will take place the last few hours before we check out...and I am not ready to tell that part yet, :lmao::lmao: (Okay Andrea are you reading?? I know how that makes you  when I do that...

We will be in Florida for my birthday...my perfect day would be to go to MK and see the new Fantasyland and have dinner at BOG...since they have been booked solid for over 6 months...that plan would not work anyway! :lmao: I better figure it all out we leave in 1 month, 3 weeks and 3 days...I have a LOT do do before then! The MAIN thing is to just be FAR AWAY from my house, its problems the doctors, my phone...sounds like a vacation to me!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Oh you know me well as I DID giggle at your post. You and I both know that we have tons to say but not enough time to say what all that we want to say.

I can think of no better place to spend a birthday than in Florida! Like you said, it'll be nice to get away from it all!

We must go back and watch Hunchback...haven't seen it since it came out.

Christian did an awesome job, and I am drooling over that bread right now. :worship:
