NOBODY IS MORE SURPRISED THAN US! GKTW alumni return! 10/21 MOVING DAY!!

Such wonderful news that Lisa's next surgery can be postponed yet again :dance3: I'm so sad to hear her cardiologist is leaving but I am thankful that you all had such a wonderful bond with him and that he took such loving care of Lisa. I know he will leave Lisa in good hands with his partners. There are many doctors that will only hire others that they would feel safe in the hands of, and I have a feeling Dr. G did just that with his partners. Prayers to his wife and to him regarding their health as well. Someone as wonderful as he is deserves to be blessed.

Gail, I hope Billy does great with his surgery. It's pretty uneventful these days, though I do understand his diabetes could play a role. Prayers to both of you. Please let us know how he does.

Prayers to all in need.

GAIL, Not sure if you will see this, and I know I already told Billy; but, PLEASE KNOW we are praying and asking God to guide the surgeons hands as he operates on Billy today!! :grouphug:

To all who read here, many prayers for your needs and hearts desire.

Lisa and I had an incredibly busy, emotion filled, exhausting day Wednesday. Lots of info to digest (Not all of it good)...I really am humbled by what God has done for us, there is no other way to explain so much.

Thank you for praying! There is strength, encouragement and divine outcomes!

I am sorry yesterday was so tough and all the news wasn't good. :grouphug: I hope today is better.

Praying Billy's surgery goes well and he recovers quickly. I think cataract surgery is one of those procedures that must be so satisfying for the doctors to perform because there is such an immediate huge difference for the patient.

Judy praying for you all today as you digest what you have heard and move ahead with whatever God directs for your children's treatment. How is Rachel doing today? Is David enjoying his classes?

We are heading out in a bit for Benjamin's checkup and then I told the kids we'd pick up one friend each for a last playdate before school start on Monday. Benjamin is supposed to go to school this evening for meet and greet to see all his new middle school teachers and get his locker assignment. I am so praying that this year will be much better for him than last year. Maybe with all the class changes, the other kids won't have so much time to pick on him? I can only hope and pray it is so! We already had a bit of a schedule hiccup but that has been fixed by our sweet registrar, which reminds me I need to bring her a little thank-you tonight for straightening it all out for him.

I am so far behind and I am sorry. I hope I can catch up soon.

I am praying for your family especially Lisa and Rachel.

I also wanted to let you know I have a fully Potty trained little girl. Thank you for everyone that prayed about it. Here is a picture of her and the toy she picked for her reward.

Thank you all for your prayers for Billy's cataract surgery! All went well and he was impressed by all the careful prepping before the surgery. He'll go in tomorrow for a follow up with the doctor. Just have to remember to do all the drops for the next 4 weeks.

Congratulations on the success potty training for Annabelle!

Judy, I read this quote today and thought of you. "Really great people make you feel that you, too, can become great". You are a really great person. :goodvibes
So glad Billy's surgery went well and Annabelle has been potty trained. :thumbsup2

Gail, I am so thankful you called with the good news before I left this afternoon. Praying you and Billy are getting some much needed rest! :grouphug:

RACHEL!! Great news on the potty training and may I congratulate you not only on this feat, but the good deal you got on the toy! And I LOVE My Little Pony, excellent choices all around! :yay::yay: I LOVE the picture, I can't believe how beautiful Annabelle is; she has grown so much!

Praying for the needs here, spoken and not. Special thoughts for my buddy, JJ.

Jennie, thinking of you. Let us know about Bill as you are able. :grouphug::grouphug:

I was just checking the DIS on my phone for updates before bed. Have had a headache since the afternoon, so was a bad mommy and got drive thru for dinner. Got to Skype with Bill today. He made it safely there. :) He left on Tuesday. K and I baked cookies for him today so I will try to get a care pkg together for mailing Saturday.

I am continuing to pray for your family, Judy, for full healing for Rachel and for God's hand to lead and protect you all, and for the other needs mentioned especially Billy's cataract surgery.

I apologize for any discombobulation to this post as I am tired and headachy. :) Love, hugs, and prayers!

The happy news is that Lisa's heart has had no change since May. As Dr. G said, it isn't now; however, the next two surgeries are coming. I know both of his partners quite well, Lisa has been seen by them many times. Dr. G has always been at the helm though, making sure to do things the CHOP way. He does have a preference of who he wants us to see and has reminded me he is but a phone call away. We asked about following him to Charleston and that is a distinct option, it is only 4 hours away, much closer than the time it takes us to get to Philly; however, it is very tough to NOT have a cardiologist locally, emergencies happen quickly and unexpectedly with heart children. It was bittersweet to say goodbye. His wife, while chronic in her illness, is stable. Dr. G however, has been diagnosed with an illness that will at some point in the near future require him to take a chunk of time off. His new job allows him to work part-time, be where he grew up and went to school, never take call and work for the state. This last one is especially important in this day of "affordable healthcare." The politics of medicine in Charlotte is taking it's toll. I knew he would leave someday, I just didn't expect it to be so soon. As he shared with us yesterday (Pete came too) things fell in to place so easily and quickly. It is very clear God had His hand on this and I have to be happy for Dr. G and I am. I admit I cried (Not sobs, but lots of tears). Lisa did too she was stronger than her Mama though and waited until we were at the elevator. She gave him her card before we left (It has all of our contact info on it for all 6 of us) and told him not to forget her. He hugged her for about the 100th time and told her he could never forget her. He fought back his own tears, this isn't easy for him to leave and start all over.

Rachel has had no change in her concussion status. The Doctor told her she could go to guitar last night IF she came home and rested all day. She was so excited, but still took a four hour nap. The MD wanted to stimulate her a little AND see if she could manage to play the guitar. Although she was very tired and a bit slower, Pete said she did okay.

Today is all about Lisa. Nephrology appt, Ultrasound on her legs for her femoral occlusion, (we have an hour wait between this appointment and the next), then we will see the vascular surgeon and a late appointment of speech therapy (we had to rearrange the week to accommodate everything going on).

THANK YOU for all of your continued prayers and for caring for our family...I know that is why you are here! Madeline, thanks for the reminder to not beat myself up for not answering everyone. BRENDA, Have a FABULOUS trip!!! KAREN! So great to see you!!! Thank you ALL for letting me know you are here.

Michelle, how is JJ??

Wow what an awesome picture!! Lisa looks so beautiful and grown-up!! :goodvibes I can totally understand driving to keep the right doctor. It is hard to have a super doctor leave.

I'm glad to hear that Lisa doesn't need a new surgery now. :thumbsup2 Which have she had so far? And what do they see her having.

Glad to hear Rachel got to play guitar. More prayers for her and all of you!!

Hugs, :grouphug:

Prayers being send to you, Judy, my Friend for Rachel and the rest of the family. I also sent an e-mail :)

Glad that there was good news from Gail, I am praying for Billy.

:grouphug: What a tough day! Lisa looks great in the photo. So glad Rachel got to play the guitar. Praying she will be back to normal quickly!

Thanks for your prayers for Billy! We went to see the doctor this morning to have the eye looked at. It's doing good and with time, his vision should get better in that eye. The eye that had the cataract removed, white colors look white. He can tell with his other eye that white looks yellow. The left eye will probably have to have the cataract removed sometime too. At least he now knows what to expect when he needs that one done.

Praying for all the needs and request especially Bill for safety while he's away! Praying that Rachel is feeling better today!

So glad to hear that Billy's surgery went well and he is seeing a bit of improvement! Continuing to pray for the rest of the requests.

We stopped by the school this morning to pick up some at-home volunteer work. While we were there we got to meet Ezra's kindergarten teacher. She is a real sweetie. I was going to give her a little heads up on his quirky personality but decided it wasn't necessary when I looked over during our conversation and saw him HANGING off her coat tree saying, "Hey look, Mom! I'm a monkey!" :scared1: Guess she got the idea, poor lady is in for a long year, I'm afraid...

GAIL so glad Billy's surgery went well :)

RACHEL yay for the completed potty training. Alexa had MLP panties to but she's graduated to Bella Sara LOL!

JENNIE glad your dh made it safely to his destination. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I've been through all this more than once and it can be a very trying time. Keep busy and time will pass faster. TY to you dh for his service.

JUDY since this is your thread, :wave2:

Continued prayers for you and your family Judy!

Yeah! Glad Annabelle succeeded in becoming potty trained!! James on the other hand has decided he's happy in his diapers. Can't even get him to pick a toy or something he wants. Oh well he'll do it when he's ready and I don't need the stress right now.

Update on my SFIL: He was transferred to a rehab center and was supposed to be released Sunday but for some reason he was sent home today. :confused3 We've already had 3 phone calls from my MIL saying she can't get him up (out of a chair, out of bed, etc). So we did the only thing we could do.... We called my FIL :rotfl2: (they've been divorced since my DH was 7). He lives 10 mins away compared to our 30 - 45 mins depending on traffic conditions. He was happy to go help since he likes my SFIL but not my MIL. I know that was probably mean but he only had to go once because she managed to get him up the other 2 times after that. But of course she had to call us complaining. I swear she's not happy unless she's complaining about something. But I'm glad to report my SFIL is doing better. He is on oxygen due to his lung problems and is hopefully going to stop smoking.

Now an update on Baby X (that's what DH is calling it.) I had my Dr. appointment on Wednesday and the heart rate sounded great (I actually got tears, I love that sound). She said everything sounds good. We are 16 weeks!!! My next ultra sound is on September 6 and we'll hopefully find out what it is then!!

And last but not least.... Jeremy has lost another tooth!!! It became loose Thursday night and less than 24 hours later it was ready to come out!! He can't wait to see how much the Tooth Fairy leaves him this time!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, prayers sent for all on the thread.

Judy, I stopped by this morning because I was thinking of you. I didn't get a chance to read everything but please know I am thinking of and praying for your family as well as for the other needs posted here. We had a long fun day yesterday (Chiefs Game) and are rushing off for an Neurology appt. today. Tessas Dr is being nice enough to meet us on a Saturday.
