We too booked our flights direct with DCL as soon the TA was released. We paid $450 return from Toronto pp. Great deal!

Were watching the temp this week in the different area to give us something to compare too when packing...

Maybe Im not getting the deal I thought I was :rotfl: We are paying $932 USD per person. $450 is amazing! I can't fly from Ottawa to Toronto return for that price.

Great idea about checking the weather! Thanks

Eleasa

Right. But I'm hoping they give us time to consider excursion options before they open it up for booking. I've been reading as many TRs as I could get my hands on to give me an idea of what to expect. We are jumping out of our seats here at my house over this cruise. I'm sure it'll die down in a few days, but we did just book it the other day. :goodvibes

I've taken a look at current weather in Spain and it seems to be very similar to what we are experiencing here in Northeast PA -- 50s and 60s with some rain here and there. That's ok, though! We didn't book it thinking we'd get beach/tropical weather.

We're probably going to fly Barcelona to either Newark or PHL. I'd prefer PHL, though, if we could get a cheap flight. I'll also book our own flight to MCO for Friday evening.

:banana:At least we can say we're under one year away!

According to Disneycruise.com:

Access opens 75 days prior to embarkation, 90 days prior for Castaway Club members, and 105 days prior for Concierge Guests. Also, note that access to My Cruise Plans closes 3 days before your cruise departure date

We booked our cruise the first day it went for sale last October. Fortunately for us, we were aboard the Magic that day and were able to get first dibbs at it. When they booked the air for us (and several others), DCL computers system miss priced the air portition (on the low side), which DCL was really good about it and honoured there original price. So we got one hell of a deal, along with a few others here.
Keep searching, the biggest benefit to booking air with DCL is that it includes your transfer to/from port&hotel.

Just an FYI it is $30/person for transfers from Barcelona to the airport. We picked up that option but since we missed out on that DCL airfare mishap it is an arm and a leg to go through them. So I'll be booking our own airfare.

I have been lurking for awhile and can't decide whether to book this cruise or not. Here is my problem I would be cruising by myself unless I can get one of my girlfriends to go with me right now no takers dh doesn't want to do this cruise and the WB plus it wouldn't leave him with much vacation time if he did both. Has anyone ever done a cruise this long on their own?? Really want to do both O what to do??:confused3:confused3

Yep, as Karl posted I did the 15 day WBPC on my own (well with about 400 other DISers) I tell you, if you sign on with this crowd you'll be GLAD to have your own cabin to go to for RECOVERY! :lmao:There were quite a few of us 'ladies' who traveled solo on that cruise (and Monica and I are cabin mates on this one) and we all had a grand time.

I had a Cat 11 and could retire to my 'cave' when I got a little, shall we say, over stimulated. Actually, as someone who lives alone, I really enjoyed having some private time to regenerate before throwing myself back into the festivities. Some days were really taxing...trying to decide which lounger outside of Cove Cafe to relax in with my book....which fruity beverage to enjoy, weather to have a wrap or a panini from Goofy's (when in doubt...one of each). Yes, sometimes it was very difficult. I can't wait to face the same challenges next year!

Hi everybody!

Looks like we'll be joining you all next year for the EB cruise! I am so excited, as not only will this be our first Disney cruise, but our first cruise ever! Our family is Dennis (36), Stacy (36), Dylan (10) and Gavin (4, turing 5 on 4/14 during the trip!) We're in a CAT 6, room 6060, and have main seeting.

I'm also a bit nervous about taking my 5th grader from school for 2 weeks. Our spring break is the week before the cruise, so I'm hoping that we'll do an independent study and get most of the work done at home then. I figure it's a trip of a lifetime, and we'll just make do as best we can.

I get the secret mickey thing, but can someone explain to me how the fish extender exchange works in more detail?

Ugh, can't wait until this time next year! We're doing an ABD trip this August, and a WDW trip in October, so I'm hoping that will keep me going until then!

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome Aboard! You will love DCL so much you'll never want to sail with anyone else (at least we haven't after 8 times).

Your child will learn more on the cruise than at school. Just be sure to smooze the teachers early and often! :rolleyes1

The Fish Extender is a way to be able to leave things for people outside their cabins. It hangs on the "fish" that is outside the door. We have sailed at Christmas time for our last three cruises so we used a Christmas stocking but others make theirs. You can track down a thread that shows how to make one. :teacher:

Hi!
Our daughter will turn 5 on this cruise, as well -- the 23rd! :goodvibes

Just a friendly reminder and especially for JACKIE!!!!!!!!

Make sure your taxes are done WELL Before leaving for this trip... for the post office on Castaway Cay is closed on Sundays, you need exact change, and you know how long it will take for your tax return to get to the IRS from the BAHAMAS!!!! :teacher:

Hi Maureen! Welcome to this bunch!

I sailed solo on the WBPC cruise (as Karl remembered & Jackie also commented). I had non DIS & DIS friends on board. This was my 2nd solo cruise (1st on in 2006 on a 4nt - with meeting DISers for the 1st time). I enjoy sailing solo, but it was loads of fun having others I knew on board too.

I say GO FOR IT!!!

Jackie - if we stay with a cat11 we an always take turns being in the cave for some alone/down time :lmao:

We can arrange that even if we get upgraded! ;)

....little does Monica know she will be catching naps on deck 4 because of the SNORING during the night....
